Currently Virginia republicans have two declared candidates for US Senate next year, Howie Lind and Shak Hill, both from Fairfax county. In June Michael Farris told me that he intended to run for Senate next year. Mike Farris is the Founder of Patrick Henry College and the Home School Legal Defense Association. He was also the republican candidate for Lt. Governor in 1993, losing to Don Beyer. In June he said that his wife’s health had ‘turned a corner’ which meant he would be able to run for Senate in 2014. Since then, I have heard nothing. Will he run? Or is it just exciting for him to talk about running? No one seems to know.
Next year Virginia Republicans will nominate their candidate for Senate in a Convention to be held on June 6 and 7th at the Roanoke Convention Center.
