If you have lived in Virginia for more than a minute and a half, you know you can’t live anywhere else. There are many good reasons for that, these are among them:
Unlike some states, we have 4 real seasons. We can ski in the winter and swim in the ocean/river/lake in the summer. We can enjoy colorful fall scenery and bright green Springs with an abundance of wildflowers.
Bristol is the home of country music and the Crooked Road is the home of the best Bluegrass music in the world.
Some of the best hiking in the country is in Virginia, with some of the best views.
If you want to swim or boat in the summer Virgina has rivers, lakes, waterfalls, and the ocean.
Craft beer and Wineries? We’re loaded with them. Loudoun County alone has 45 wineries and at least a dozen breweries and the scenery is beautiful. Come have a beer and enjoy the views.
Fresh produce abounds, all over the state. We’ve got apples, peaches, tomatoes, every kind of vegetable including our fantastic sweet corn, and Virginia peanuts, just to name a few. And we can’t forget our delicious Smithfield County ham.
We have Shenandoah National Park and within that is the beautiful skyline drive. Nothing is more beautiful than the views from there.
We have a history like no other state and we like to show it off in places like Williamsburg and Jamestown.
In Virginia you can be a city mouse or a country mouse, in the same day. There are many rural areas in Virginia but there are also cities like Richmond, Norfolk, Roanoke and Virginia Beach. People in Northern Virginia can live in the country and party at night in Washington, DC.
If you’re a foodie, Virginia is the place to be. No state can beat our food, particularly our seafood and hams. Lots of Angus beef here too!
Virginians are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. We’re friendly, always stopping to talk with neighbors, and waving at everyone we pass on our rural roads.
