The Israeli intelligence service was completely surprised by the size and intensity of the attack by Hamas terrorists. The number of Israeli dead are now about 1000 and the injured are about 2500 . Hamas terrorists didn’t just kill and main, they also captured hundreds of civilians from many countries and Israeli military personnel. (The news video and pictures show the horror of what has happened so far.)
Hamas terrorists used tactics not previously seen. While 1000s of missiles rained down on Israelis towns and cities, large numbers of paragliding Hamas terrorist flew over the Israeli border and landed in predefined locations. This latter activity was clearly well planned and logistically supported. As a result of this surprise tactic, the terrorists were able to inflict the casualties noted above with little initial Israeli response – a massacre occurred in many places.
Israel has a large muslim resident population so the Hamas terrorists from air, land and sea were supported even after the initial invasion began to stall – street fighting between Israeli Jews and Israeli muslims has been reported. Hezbollah, another terrorist group, has joined with Hamas and there are indications that the Taliban of Afghanistan wishes to join the fight by passing through Iran. Not surprisingly, muslim dominated nations are calling to support Hamas. There are large “Free Palestine” marches throughout Western Europe, Canada and the United States.
Israel has declared war. Israeli troops are moving to clean out pockets of resistance in Israeli areas. Troops supported by tanks and aircraft are moving to the Gaza strip. Israeli bombardments have set many buildings in Gaza on fire or destroyed them. (The Israeli government did give the civilian population of Gaza warning about the coming attacks but it would seem that surgical strikes are off the table.)
Much of the blame for this disaster has been placed on the Biden administration which left tens of billions of dollars of military equipment in Afghanistan In addition, even more billions were given to Iran during both the Obama and Biden administrations. Notably, Iran is the major financial conduit for the Hamas terrorist attacks. Iran is also the major weapons supplier and a stable place to plan and train for Hamas. (It appears that weapons are being purchased from Ukraine and many are relatively modern.)

The real question now is can this war be contained or does it explode into a World War. At this point nobody knows.

Let’s be very clear about this, it was Donald Trump, who negotiated the Afghan surrender. Biden delayed the withdrawal I believe 90 days. If the number is tens of billions of dollars worth of equipment left, then the removal of that volume of equipment should have started back during the Trump administration.
But, no doubt Biden is responsible for screwing up the withdrawal. Trump is responsible for screwing up the the negotiated surrender. Was leaving the equipment part the Trump negotiated surrender? We needed to get out of Afghanistan or make it a state. I think it likely that Biden withdrew from Afghanistan solely based on his knowledge that he was going to take on Russia in the upcoming Ukraine conflict. He knew this because he knew his US/Ukraine strategic charter partnership agreement was going to provoke Putin to invade Ukraine. He did not want 2 conflicts at once. Both the US and Ukraine assured Russia that Ukraine would never join NATO.
Neither Trump nor Biden is capable of managing even a McDonald’s without F’ing it up. Neither has any business in government.
Your TDS needs treatment. Biden was president and rescinded many Trump policies, notably at the US southern border. If he didn’t like the Afghan deal, he could have junked it and kept going with a new policy. As Spock would say, sir, you are illogical.
The number of Israeli dead and injured continue to climb and the second front war with hezbollah has begun. Israeli deaths are currently at 1200 but this could easily double. Gaza is being obliterated – no food, water, electricity, basics. The situation around the civilized west world is troubling as Palestinian supporters in various nations and major cities are not just marching but attacking jews and anybody who supports Israel. BLM and ANTIFA are on Palestinian side as are the squad except AOC. Pretty obvious that our supposedly ideological left superiors now facing the reality of the Obama and Biden disasters. But, as with 9/11, they will be back shortly demanding that Israel stop being so mean. Is Iran on the Israeli menu? Tbd.
IMHO, WWIII already started and we just don’t realize it. Ukraine was the initial front. Israel is the second front. Taiwan will be next, and then S. Korea after that. People seem surprised by the level of barbarism inflicted by hamas. This started 1400 + years ago with the formation of Islam and has not stopped. If the Jews were eliminated, next would be Christian’s, Buddhists, Hindus, etc. no level of savagery is too low. JBefore 9/11, CIA individuals warned the Clinton a number off times about Osama bin Laden. Bill Clinton was called and told they had Osama in their sights but needed authorization to kill him. Clinton was busy playing golf and told the CIA he would get back to them. The opportunity was lost and 9/11 happened.
I thought the same thing, but, it just does not add up to let an attack of this scope happen. For what reason? Unless the info was internally suppressed in order to topple Netanyahu.
