Even the Manager at McDonald’s Asked Harris Tougher Job Interview Questions Than CNN’s Dana Bash Ever Would.
Ted Kennedy’s last chance to become President was ended by Roger Mudd in the late 1970’s. I was just a little boy at the time, but in studying political science I am very familiar with the event. For those of you younger than me, you are probably asking, who was Roger Mudd, and how could he possibly derail Teddy Kennedy, or as the Boston Globe used to refer to him as “Fat boy”(s) election chances? Was Mudd a rival politician, an assassin, a witness to some great Kennedy crime, an undercover government informer? No Roger Mudd was the CBS news correspondent who in 1979 was granted an interview with Kennedy, who was very likely to beat incumbent President Jimmy Carter for the Democrat nomination in 1980. But Kennedy blew the interview, specifically botched one question, now he did far better than Kamala Harris has done in say 90 percent of her interviews. Kennedy’s IQ was at least 100 points higher than hers, but in 1979 we didn’t grade our Presidential candidates on a curve, and he wasn’t in line to be the first black woman President. And in those innocent days the American people expected more of their politicians. They actually demanded that politicians answer questions before the polls opened up and voting began. The American people were so naive, it is quaint, they actually believed that their Presidents could be smart and articulate. They believed that a candidate for President would have the courage to sit down and answer tough questions. Unscripted questions. Wow how funny – a smart President! Those were the pre-DEI days, the days before participation trophies, the days when Americans valued merit, the days before social promotion. Sadly, I think Kamala Harris is the quintessential American, a person desiring nothing more than a participation trophy and expecting social promotion. I worry that Trump represents the old America, that is entrepreneurship, work and enterprise and capitalism. Trump built companies, buildings, wealth, and created jobs. Harris is today’s America, the America yearning for the promise of socialism, of “free college” and “free house downpayment money”, The America of social promotion. Just as the Super bowl trophy was named in honor of Vince Lombardi, I think all participation trophies should be named for Kamala Harris. She is a walking participation trophy. She was a friend of Willie Brown’s in California, what she had to do to become his friend I shudder to think, but it was that friendship that made her rise possible. And in 2020 Biden picked her because of her race and gender. And when he dropped out Democrats, because of her race and gender had to pick her. She has an unremarkable career, no accomplishments, no record of success, certainly nothing that makes her Presidential.
But I digress. What was the question Teddy Kennedy stumbled on? It was, a seemingly simple question, “Why do you want to be President?” Kennedy rambled, and wandered, hemmed and hawed, and after several seconds was profoundly lost, almost as lost as Joe Biden appeared in his June debate with Trump when he said, “we finally beat Medicare.”
Honestly even if Kamala was given that very question, “Why do you want to be President?” and three weeks to prepare an answer, and a camera to practice on in her office, and the number to call the CBS producer when she was good and ready to do the pre-taped interview, she would still butcher the answer. It would still be rambling, still full of words like, “Aspirational”, “Holistic”, “Efficacious”. And probably include a vague line about, “organic solutions to systemic community wide problems, which while deep are not insoluble. At least I do not believe they are.”
So, you can see why Democrats want to keep her in hiding, if even Ted Kennedy whose IQ was at least 100 points higher than Kamala’s can get destroyed with one question, there is no way Democrats would subject her to real questions, and I doubt there are any more Roger Mudds, that is reporters willing to ask a tough question of the Democrat Presidential nominee. Imagine if you worked for a mainstream news outlet and you asked Kamala a question she couldn’t handle, you’d be done, your career in journalism would be over. At least with mainstream news.

But how are voters to be informed if the candidate hides out by avoiding the press? It is understandable that the Harris campaign doesn’t care, and the Democrats don’t care, despite their claims that our democracy is under threat, they want their candidate to stay away from microphones. The less she says the better.
But what is far worse is that the media doesn’t care either. It’s their job to ask tough questions, and the people that run ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS, The Washington Post, New York Times, and others, don’t want to ask her a single tough question. They have no interest in making sure that the American people are informed, which is the primary duty of the media. The members of the mainstream media are hacks and propagandists.
Now imagine for a second an alternative universe. Imagine if the press demanded answers. Imagine if she were asked why she flipped on fracking. For example, some reporter asking her, “As California Attorney General you were so opposed to fracking that you sued the Obama administration to stop it, you opposed it in 2020 when you last ran for President, and even as early as this year you were still on record opposing fracking. Why did you change positions? Is climate change no longer an existential threat?” Or how about “Ms. Harris You have said you favor a two-state solution wouldBut how are voters to be informed if the candidate hides out by avoiding the press? Is climate change no longer an existential threat?” Or how about “Ms. Harris You have said you favor a two-state solution would you still support that if it was likely that the leaders of Hamas would run the country.” Or “Ms. Harris, Despite the Supreme Court ruling against the Biden Harris administration on student loan forgiveness President Biden said he has found ways around it, the high court’s ruling. Do you still favor continuing to get around the court and having taxpayers pay off student loans?” Or “Ms. Harris wouldn’t your plan to give homebuyers 25 thousand dollars downpayment for a house simply raise the cost of the home by 25 thousand dollars?” Or how about, “Ms. Harris, you met with President Biden once a week for the last four years, did you notice any mental slippage on his part?” Or “Ms. Harris, You said you wanted to demolish ICE and rebuild it from scratch. What is wrong with it, and how would you rebuild it?” And finally, “Ms. Harris in 2020 you said you supported the end of private health insurance and a government takeover. What made you change your mind?”
Any one of these questions could sink her candidacy, actually I think anyone of these would sink her, so, the campaign keeps her away from the press. But the problem is that even easy questions will be tough for her to handle, such as why do you want to be President. Not that the press would ask her a tough question, but who knows maybe a tough one will get through, and that is too great of a risk to take.
But don’t the American people deserve answers from people who wish to serve? My guess is that even at McDonald’s Harris did at least one sit down interview. And I bet, assuming she really did work at McDonald’s, she had a job interview that was tougher than anything that NBC news would ever put her through. I bet the manager that interviewed her asked tougher questions then CNN’s Dana Bash would ask her. That manager was probably the last person to ever ask Kamala Harris a tough question.
I think running for office is a series of Job interviews. Unscripted questions from voters and members of the press. I remember Mark Warner referring to his campaign as “The longest job interview.” Usually, a Presidential campaign starts in Iowa a year before the Presidential election. Candidates camp out for months there talking to tens of thousands of potential voters and doing interviews with every media member they can find. They then move on to New Hampshire and do it again. By the time of the convention the following year voters feel they know the candidate and are comfortable with them. And whether they supported that candidate or not they largely feel that the candidate has been vetted.
Harris skipped all that. Until June of 2024 Biden was plan A, and Harris was to be kept in the background, if not dumped at the convention. He was up to doing the job, so Democrats and the media told us, until he lost the debate with Trump in June. They then decided to dump him, not because he was mentally impaired, they knew that for years, but because he was behind in the polls to Trump. They then selected her. She has never won a primary or caucus, but no matter she is a black woman and next in line. And anyway, they had no other choice.
However, since she was not vetted, which is best done through the primary process, it is not too much to expect that she subjects herself to media questions and town halls. Of course, her handlers are not going to allow that. They know that the more she speaks the more likely that she will lose. But isn’t that essential to democracy. Opening your candidate to questions? Doesn’t a candidate want to explain their positions? Wouldn’t the candidate have confidence in their positions, and their vision? Explain how they’d govern? Not Harris. She has no clue.
She is even skipping the Al Smith Dinner, which is a charity fundraiser, where both major party Presidential candidates show up to help raise money. She will be the first major party candidate to skip it since Walter Mondale in 1984. Her lame excuse, she will be out campaigning. Well, Mondale skipped it to campaign, and he lost 49 states. I don’t think leaving the campaign trail for one-night matters one bit. But she can’t go because she might be subject to a question or two.
America deserves better. Anyone that seeks the highest office in the land should open themselves up to questions. Shame on the Democrats and the media for pushing her forward.

1) Kamala Harris is a lawyer. Why shouldn’t that alone DQ her from the White House in any society with an IQ above 75? But wait! There is more! She is also a radical leftist from California too! 😲
2) I am all for people making a living wage. But, just google what Longshoreman and Boeing machinists make now, and what they are asking for in a new contract. Fire them all. F’em all. However, please keep in mind that the runaway deficit spending by Congress by both the corruption based Republican’s and Democrat’s, is what is driving inflation, and that these massive wage increase demands are being driven by inflation.
Trump is just as big a disaster as Harris. 😲 Harris now appears to be way behind Trump in my poll. 😲
