Current Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in Loudoun County, Scott York, is running as an Independent for re-election as chairman. York was running before he wasn’t running and flip-flopped once again in June. But he’s getting precious little support from his current board members. [read_more]
Only one member of the current board is supporting Scott York, the disgraced Shawn Williams, who is not running again, for obvious reasons. Supervisor Ralph Buona has remained silent on the race, refusing to say which candidate for chairman he is supporting, but has been seen campaigning with Charlie King.
The rest of the board say they will support the Republican candidate for chair, Charlie King. Janet Clarke believes it’s time for new leadership on the Loudoun board.
“I think it’s important for people to stand by their word,” Clarke said June 5. “I had supported Charlie from the get go, as a good Republican, as a good candidate … I still feel that Charlie is the right man for the job.”
Scott York’s kickoff is being hosted by well known Loudoun businessman Michael O’Connor. O’Connor has primarily supported Democrats in the past. Also running against York and King are Democrat Phyllis Randall and Independent (Democrat) Tom Bellanca.
