A few articles ago I wrote of why we need term limits in all levels of government and today one of the examples of why we need them was on display as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell froze up for more than 30 seconds during a news conference.
This is not the first time the Minority Leader has froze up in recent months and this is not just a mere coincidence nor anything normal and ironically the question asked of him during this episode was if he had plans of running for re-election in 2026.
First of all let me just say that on a human level I pray for Senator McConnell’s welfare but with a second episode of freezing up during a news conference the tell tale signs are showing that for the sake of his health it’s time for him to resign!
McConnell is 81 years old, has been in the Senate since 1985 and with these latest episodes the last thing he should be thinking of is running for re-election in 2026 let alone finish up his current term.
For the sake of our Republic and his own personal health McConnell should consider resigning from the Senate post haste and the Commonwealth of Kentucky hold a special election to fill the Minority Leaders vacancy.
Personally I think Congressman Thomas Massie would be a great candidate to serve alongside Senator Rand Paul but only time will tell if McConnell chooses to resign or who would fill the vacant seat.
Democrat Andy Bershear is the current Governor of Kentucky and will face Republican nominee Daniel Cameron in a battle for the governorship this year.

The headline gets it correct where the author is too weak, writing “McConnell should consider resigning from the Senate post haste.”

McConnell is truly one of the most repulsive members of the swamp.. along with the rest of his gang that votes with the Democrats to fatten their own wallets on trillion dollar spending pig troughs.. remember the attack ad that one of his opponents, a young lady who had been in the armed services did.. it showed Mitch limp wristedly holding a gun and her shooting one.. Mitch you are truly disgusting on many levels… Time to go eat pudding with Biden at the old timers cesspool home.. Nancy and Diane Feinstein will be there too…
IF the point of these seven paragraphs is to suggest term & age limits, then I’m all in. Too many reasons in justifying no “career politicians.” Moreover, even more reasons to put an age limit on being in office. It is done for many other fields.
Do we voters have any real say over who leads the Senate or house?
