DEI – Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity. They’re meant to show tolerance. We know what these words mean in actuality. The term means discrimination against white people. DEI is affirmative action on steroids. DEI is really no different than Jim Crow laws in reverse.
Much of this past election cycle was how we will deal with DEI and its many problems. Donald Trump and his Army of Deplorables (of which we are all foot soldiers) have been fighting this discrimination with all that we have. We won a massive victory this past November 5. However it seems not everyone has gotten the message.
Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner, has doubled down on DEI practices. Talking about DEI, Goodell said and I quote: “DEI makes the NFL better”. Let’s see if Goodell is correct.
Take the Atlanta Falcons. They’ve had issues for several years now. Recently the Falcons fired their head coach, and the owner of the Falcons – Arthur Blank, was asked after the firing how he’d go about replacing their head coach. Blank said and I quote: “I will use DEI principles to find a new coach”. Blank then went and hired Raheem Morris. Morris had been a HC before, and was a failure. So to prove that he was a tolerant man, Blank hired a man who had a proven record of failure, to prove he was no racist. The end result was that the Atlanta Falcons had a losing season – with a lot of talent on that roster. Falcons fans want Morris fired, and blame Morris (but not Blank) for the failure of the 2024 Falcons.
Take the New England Patriots. The Pats had been the most stable organization for the past 20+ years under HC Bill Belichick. The NFL had likely passed Belichick by, and the Patriots hired his successor after the 2024 season. The Patriots hired a man named Jerrod Mayo, a long time Patriots player and position coach. Mayo was a decent person, but wholly unqualified to be a HC in the NFL. The Pats hired Mayo for 2 reasons. 1st they liked him as a person, and 2nd, Mayo is an African American. Any professional sports team is not just a multi-billion dollar business. It is the pride of a city, and something that the city can unite around. When one is having a bad day, they can lose themselves for 2-3 hours in a sports game and come out of the game with a refreshed mind. People can handle their teams losing when the organization is trying their best. But we can’t handle losing because of anti white racism. Who wants to pay high prices for tickets if the team is not putting out the best product on the field because of anti white racism?
Both of these billion dollar organizations embarrassed themselves in 2024 because of DEI. Patriots got smart and fired Mayo. I actually feel bad for Mayo, he was clearly not ready to be a HC. Maybe in a few years – but not now. Yet in the name of compassion and racism, Mayo got publicly humiliated on the national stage.
We have had several amazing African American head coaches. DeMeco Ryans of the Houston Texans comes to mind. Tony Dungy is in the Hall of Fame. HC Todd Bowles of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has had some success. Many of you are fans of Mike Tomlin. I’m not one of them. But Tomlin has won a Super Bowl ring and should be honored for this victory. Saying we don’t support DEI is not saying that we don’t want people of different ethnicities in positions of power. It’s that we want the most qualified person in the position of power. Not a racist program designed to show that all of the world’s problems are white people’s fault. DEI promotes racism against white folk, and it’s time for all discrimination to end.
