As The Bull Elephant’s Willie Deutsch reported last week, former Bull Run Republican Women’s Club President Dottie Miller has announced a run for chairman of the Prince William County Republican Committee. Miller is running to replace Chairman Bill Card, who is term-limited under the PWCRC bylaws.
When she announced, Miller let us be known that she had the backing of some very impressive conservative leaders, including Dan Varroney and my friend, Brentsville Supervisor Jeanine Lawson (a former colleague on the RPV State Central Committee).
Since then, however, Miller has been quite busy racking up additional support. Her campaign released the following list of endorsements yesterday:
Rep. Rob Wittman (VA-01)
Former Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli
Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart
Delegate and House Republican Whip Jackson Miller (VA-50)
Delegate Bob Marshall (VA-13)
Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland
Former Occoquan Supervisor Mike May
Occoquan Supervisor Ruth Anderson
Gainesville School Board Member Alyson Satterwhite
Brentsville School Board Member Gil Trenum
State Central Committee First District Member Bob Watson
Wow! That’s a pretty solid cross section of one of the most conservative units in the state. This will be hard for any other candidate to beat, and speaks volumes about Miller’s ability to work closely with other Republican leaders in the county.
So far, only one other person has announced a bid for chairman of the committee. William Johnston is currently the only candidate who will face off against Miller at the unit’s March 5 convention at Forest Park High School.
Those Republicans who wish to participate in this election, and in the election of delegates to the state and 1st, 10th, and 11th District Conventions must get their filings in by this Saturday, February 20. See here for more details.
In the meantime, congratulations to Dottie Miller!
