Our Founding Fathers understood that our nation’s journey would not be easy. They foresaw a future marked by opposing viewpoints, diverse cultures, and threats of tyranny. As visionaries, they drew upon their intellect and strategic foresight to lay a foundation strong enough to withstand the test of time. These wise men knew that future generations would continue to face battles, some familiar in nature, yet fought on entirely different fronts. The principles they established were not merely for their time; they were designed as enduring, repeatable truths, applicable across all ages and all circumstances. By keeping the framework simple yet powerful, they created a constitutional republic, a union of states working together in a cooperative, structured manner to form one great nation.
Violence, in any form and under any circumstance, must never be tolerated. We are a nation founded on law and order and we must stand firmly against those who incite violence or commit acts of destruction that undermine the very principles upon which our country was built.
When we disagree with the laws governing our towns, states, or nation, we have a powerful and peaceful means to pursue change, through our legislative process, via the House of Representatives and the Senate. This rather than anarchy is the foundation of our democracy which has stood the test of time for almost 250 years.
Elected Officials know not too long ago as “Public Servants” must serve the people who put them in a position of special trust and responsibility. When a politician no longer represents the broader interests of their constituents, choosing instead to cater to a select few or, worse, to themselves, it becomes our duty to remove them from the office. Change is achieved at the ballot box, not through chaos, violence, or civil disobedience.
One urgent place to begin is by addressing the crisis surrounding immigration. The same politicians who once supported lawful immigration policies under previous Democratic administrations now stand in opposition to them for political convenience or “compassion” for those “newcomers” who have broken the law.
Illegal immigration has placed many of its participants in vulnerable, dangerous situations—setting them up for failure while simultaneously placing a heavy burden on our nation. No amount of feel-good moral rationalization or distorted biblical references can justify the trafficking of a child, or the horrifying reality of a young life lost for disobeying a cartel’s command. Many self-righteous “do-gooders” who in their heart believe they are doing the right thing have only exacerbated the problem. A trip to the border where the cartels proudly display the under garments of those they have violently sodomized reveals the cruel reality of those they believe they are helping by condoning illegal immigration.
If we are truly committed to justice, compassion, and national integrity, then we must demand accountability, not only from ourselves, but also from the leaders at the helm of cities and states that harbor and enable illegal migration. As Lincoln argued “A house divided against itself cannot stand,” neither can a nation that selectively enforces the law of the land.
