Democrat Delegates Martha Mugler (D-Hampton), and Alex Askew (D-Virginia Beach) have requested recounts in their recent elections.
Delegate Mugler lost her race to Republican A.C. Cordoza by 94 votes, 13,627 to 13,741. Delegate Askew lost to Republican Karen S. Greenhalgh by 127 votes, 14,143 to 14,270. Because the margin in both races was less than 0.5%, they can request a taxpayer funded recount.
