Loudoun County, VA (March 17, 2023): The Virginia Senate and House of Delegates passed resolutions last month commending Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman for receiving the 2023 Ferris L. Lucas “Sheriff of the Year” award from the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA).
The chief patrons of Senate Resolution 166 and House Resolution 457 were Senator Jennifer Boysko (D-33rd) and Delegate Dave LaRock (R-33rd), respectively. Both resolutions passed unanimously on February 24, 2023, and NSA will officially present the award to Sheriff Chapman at its Annual Conference in June.
“I am gratified for this unique honor from the National Sheriffs’ Association, and now from our state legislators in Richmond – Democrats and Republicans alike,” said Sheriff Chapman. “Law enforcement should never be partisan, and for Loudoun County to have the best public safety record in the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia region is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our LCSO team.”
