Current Iowa polling from realclearpolitics.com:
With snow and bitter cold predicted tonight in Iowa it is difficult to judge turnout. But Trump supporters are nothing if not loyal so it may not effect his numbers as much as other candidates.
I tend to agree with former Virginia Delegate Chris Saxman and his thoughts on tonight’s caucuses:
“Regardless of your preference in tonight’s outcome, the only thing that matters is the number that Donald Trump posts.
That’s it.
If Trump finishes over 50 – roll up the tents. This thing is over.
If Trump posts mid 40s – this thing will go on through New Hampshire, South Carolina, the Virgin Islands, and Nevada.
If Trump somehow finishes around 40 or below – game on. Super Tuesday (March 5th) will be the GOP’s date with destiny.
If his numbers hold, Trump should break 50 tonight. He will no doubt claim a massive and historic victory. Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley will be pressured to drop out and endorse Trump. #VPList #UniteTheParty“
In other political news, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) says the need for a third party to run this year won’t be decided until after Super Tuesday March 5th. Story here.

The Iowa results are not a “smashing victory” for Trump.
— Only 2.7% of Iowa’s registered voters voted.
— There are 720,000 Registered Republicans in Iowa. Only 15% of them voted for Trump.
Unite Dems, split Republicans = Blue Victory
Great news for Democrats!
In spite of the cheering by you MAGATs the Iowa results clearly show that half the GOP wants nothing to do with Trump.
NH is shaping up to be a similar repudiation of Trump.
Several polls found that Haley voters said they will vote for Biden if Trump is the GOP nominee.
Meanwhile, Trump is a loser: He lost in 2020, 2022, and 2023 as Democrats have been stacking wins in state elections.
