According to the New York Times 240,000 adult illegal immigrants and 50,000 children from Central America have entered the US over the last three months. Most of them will be transported to relatives in the US at taxpayer expense. If this rate of immigration continues over a million illegals will enter the US each year. Only a small fraction of them will be returned to their home countries.
When the federal government attempted to place some of the children in Lawrenceville VA, the community objected and the plans were withdrawn. Attempts to place illegal immigrants in Bristol Virginia has also been met with local resistance. No town has been more active in opposing the placement of the illegal immigrants than Murrieta, CA, a small town of 103,000, 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles. The town has twice turned away busloads of illegal immigrants. The federal government rarely informs Americans where they placing the children and their families. Most of these people are not well educated and will be competing with segments of our society already suffering from high unemployment rates. Only 23% of Americans think unemployment will be lower next year. A million illegal immigrants will cause unemployment to rise, particularly among those on the bottom, those groups who already the hardest hit by unemployment.
