When I think of the great conservative leaders in Virginia’s storied liberty movement, I think of Congressmen Dave Brat and Tom Garrett, Delegate Nick Freitas, Councilmen Jon Russell, Martha Boneta, and Denver Riggleman. I also think of Ben Cline who has been a consistent voice for reason and liberty in the Commonwealth in the Virginia House of Delegates for years. There is no one better to replace Congressman Goodlatte in 2018.
Ben Cline would be an outstanding addition to one of the United States’ most conservative Republican delegations. We have been blessed to have men like Congressman Rob Wittman and Congressman Morgan Griffith joined by Congressmen Brat and Garrett, and we have the opportunity to nominate and elect yet another tried and true Virginia conservative.
Ben Cline has been a part of the conservative movement in Virginia since 2002. Ben has authored legislation aimed at reducing income taxes, co-authored the popular Back To School tax holiday, has a 100% rating from the Family Foundation, and an A+ rating from the NRA.
I know there are other folks running to fill Congressman Goodlatte’s seat, but none of the other potential candidates have been fighting beside us for as long as Ben Cline has been fighting beside us. Ben Cline has never shied away from standing up for fiscal responsibility, limited-government, and lower taxes, even when Republican Leadership in the General Assembly has wavered.
Ben Cline is the Chairman of the Conservative Caucus in the House of Delegates and has already been endorsed by Delegate Nick Freitas, as well as by hundreds of liberty activists across the Commonwealth. Scanning Facebook this morning, I was absolutely blown away by the amount of enthusiasm and support that is already behind Delegate Ben Cline.
