Early this morning the House voted 231-192 to keep the government funded in the short term, but they included an amended that would delay Obamacare implementation for one year for everyone. They also included an amendment to remove the Obamacare tax on medical devices permanently. Two republicans voted against the bill, both from NY, Chris Gibson and Richard Hanna. Two democrats voted for the bill, Mike McIntyre from NC and Utah’s Jim Matheson. The bill now goes back to the Senate where it is unlikely to pass. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has said that the Senate will not accept any budget that includes any changes to the Obamacare law. The Senate is not scheduled to reconvene until Monday afternoon, just hours before the government will shut down at midnight.
