Today’s update on the status of the Convention of the States Resolutions in the General Assembly: [read_more]
Four bills were introduced in the General Assembly concerning an Article V Convention of the states.
Yesterday, Senator RyanMcDougle pulled his bill, SJR269.
Today, Delegate Scott Lingamfelter pulled his similar version in the House, bill HJ497.
Bills concerning the Convention that are still alive:
State Senator Emmitt Hangar’s SJ252, which once again has been passed by for the day, and Delegate LeMunyon’s similar version in the House HJ499 has been passed by until Monday. Incidentally, reports are LeMunyon received $100K from MidResolution PAC, which has been pushing these bills.
Word is lots of phone calls and lobbying are STILL pouring in for and against these remaining bills, with Republican activists deeply divided, so the fight isn’t over, but the momentum clearly is on the side of the anti-ConCon forces.
