Jay McConville, the chairman of the Fairfax Republican Committee, has called for the resignation of John Farrell, the General Counsel for Fairfax Democrats. Mr. McConville’s statement, released today:
Fairfax County GOP Chairman Calls for Democratic Operative Resignation
FAIRFAX, VA – Jay McConville, Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee, issued the following statement today regarding the yesterday’s incident at the Fairfax County Government Center involving the Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) General Counsel John Farrell.
“We have had continued issues dealing with Mr. Farrell. This latest incident in which he is videotaped first dismantling the Republican voter support station and then apparently assaulting one of the Republican staffers, is just another example of his bullying manner and unprofessional behavior. While he has been admonished for this latest incident, we believe strongly that the County would be better served if he were to be removed as the Fairfax County Democratic Committee’s General Counsel.
His comment, “you are in here because I’m letting you be here” gives those not familiar with Mr. Farrell a glimpse into the type of attitude and behavior we, as well as Fairfax County employees, have had to deal with for some time.
Mr. Farrell is not the Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors or the Fairfax County Democratic Committe. Both Fairfax County Board Chairman Sharon Bulova and FCDC Chair Cesar del Aguila should demand his resignation or fire him immediately.”
