The last Republican elected official in Fairfax County, Pat Herrity, is running for Lt. Governor this year. Also running for the Republican nomination are James City County businessman John Curran, and perhaps Virginia Republican party chair Rich Anderson.
In his announcement for LG Herrity said:
“In Richmond, I will continue to bring about the commonsense, conservative solutions that best serve our communities and our commonwealth,”
“I’ll stand up to the progressive prosecutors releasing repeat violent offenders into our neighborhoods, and I’ll penalize localities that refuse to cooperate with (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to keep our communities safe,”
Herrity also said he would fight for education resources for our students and teachers, support law enforcement and work to lower taxes.
In his last race for Supervisor, in 2023, Herrity easily won re-election by double digits despite running in very liberal Fairfax county.
