Bob Ohneiser, an attorney and former Loudoun school board member, will challenge Jim Plowman next year for Commonwealth Attorney. In 2011 Ohneiser gave up his seat as the Broad Run representative to run for chairman of the school board. He lost to Tom Reed 56% to 31% with a third party candidate receiving 12%. Jim Plowman ran against Jennifer Wexton in 2011, winning 52% to 48%.
Jim Plowman is a very popular Commonwealth Attorney who has done a excellent job. He will be very difficult to beat. Bob Ohneiser is something of a character in politics. In addition to suddenly joining the democratic party while serving as a republican on the school board, Ohneiser never spent more than $1,000 on any political campaign and he never accepted any donations. His rather interesting and varied biography can be found here.
Despite what this article says about the race, it’s very unlikely that Bob Ohneiser will come close to beating Jim Plowman.
