Jennifer Wexton was a bit of an enigma to me. She is running in front of Congresswoman Comstock in the race for Va 10th district US Congress. I will proffer that she is not running for the entire District, just the whack-a-doodle left. She spends most of her campaign time with progressive groups, preaching to her choir.
I know that is harsh, but you know the axiom on “birds of a feather flock together?” She took money from Nancy Pelosi’s PAC, and she has the same Democratic Socialist positions as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Tim Kaine, Barbara Lee, and Maxine Waters. I think it’s clear she is not flocking with Virginia values or issues.
That is fine if she wants to flock with the dangerous socialist fringe of the Democrat party who enforce their ideals with their brownshirt Antifa strongarm. But the enigma is that the Va 10th district she wants to represent not a bastion of socialism. Far from it, very few places in Virginia are that far to the left.
I was hoping her TV commercials would display just how far out she is, but they are merely negative pot-shots against Comstock’s strengths, again, aimed at her socialist base and the low information voter.
I’ll give you a few direct comparisons of the two candidates to let you decide who is best for Virginia. First of all, look at Wexton’s criticism of Comstock’s proximity to President Trump. This so-called proximity to the president has been an incredible asset to Virginians.
How many millions of Virginians benefitted from the Trump Tax Cuts that Comstock supported, but Wexton vows to rescind. Are we supposed to believe that a Virginia value is to raise the taxes of working Virginians? Liberals are working hard this cycle to convince you that raising taxes on wage earners is somehow moral and just. Maybe in Maxine Waters California district or New York City, but not in Virginia.
The recent Congressional debate was a huge billboard for why we cannot allow Ms. Wexton to represent even a tiny fraction of Virginia. Congresswoman Comstock nailed it when she said, “This election is about RESULTS versus the RESISTANCE.” Her results should be celebrated and embraced.
Wexton can’t see past her resistance and hatred. Comstock was wise enough to understand, for instance, that the president’s controversial tariff policies were a “short-term negotiating policy.” A policy that has brought Canada, Mexico, Europe, Japan, and now maybe even China to the negotiating table. It’s difficult to understand why Democrats like Jennifer Wexton support China, India, and others raping of our economy for decades on the backs of Virginians and all Americans.
This election is an accurate barometer for President Trump. Comstock has supported his policies that have lowered unemployment to record lows for all demographic groups. President Obama’s policies never came close to helping poor, minority communities as much as Trump has.
One issue that Wexton has ceded to Comstock is on crime. Wexton has indicated acceptance of sanctuary cities and the defunding of ICE. Comstock fully supports ICE and has been a friend of law enforcement across the Commonwealth.
Wexton is so soft on crime that she had to manufacture fake cops for one of her campaign commercials. ROLL CALL observed: “…none of them are actual law enforcement. In fact, one of them is Matt Leslie, Wexton’s field director, who, according to his LinkedIn profile, has never been and is not currently police.”
Results, not resistance. That’s what we need from our representatives in Congress. The Representatives that support the president have a real record of achievement in moving America forward. They are complicit in African Americans enjoying the lowest unemployment number in history.
They are complicit in an economy that is back in leading the world. They are complicit in a Supreme Court that is true to the constitution rather than politics and special interests.
Jennifer Wexton’s representation of Virginia would be tied up in impeachment hearings, tax increases and flipping our trade balance to an imbalance in favor of our trading competitors.
Jennifer Wexton’s representation of Virginia would include a regulatory blitz designed to stifle the competitiveness of Virginia and other American businesses like those touted during the Obama years.
Jennifer Wexton’s representation of Virginia would include the elimination of ICE and shielding criminal illegal aliens from deportation action as is required by federal law.
Comstock is absolutely guilty of conspiracy. Not a criminal conspiracy. She has willingly, knowingly and transparently conspired with her voters, The President and Republicans in Congress to make Virginia, and even all of America Great Again. Results over rhetoric.
