As we approach Holy Week in preparation for the Easter holiday, I’ve been feeling more led to talk about something more important than politics, or should I say someone more important than politics.
Here lately I personally have been working on improving my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and for the first time since I gave my life to Him back on February 11th 2017, I can say that my prayer life, my faith in Him and love for Him have gotten stronger than ever before and as a Christian Conservative Activist I feel compelled to use this article to give you the reader an important message!
Jesus loves you! Of course if you have heard the Gospel message you know that He is the only way to Heaven (John 14:6), that He gave His life on the cross for the sins of all mankind (past, present and future) and that all have sinned, it’s only His blood that can cleanse our sins and if we confess and repent of our sins, He will forgive our sins and remember them no more. (John 3:23, Romans 6:23, 1 John 1:9, Jeremiah 31:34)
Ok, so maybe you’re thinking like “He died for all mankind, so how can I relate to that on a personal level”?
Jesus loves you so much that even if you were the only one to walk this earth, He still would have taken the cross, the nails, the crown of thorns and the scourging all because of the love He has for you.
C.S. Lewis illustrated it best to easily understand especially for the younger audience in his book The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe which is part of his critically acclaimed The Chronicles of Narnia series.
The Lion Aslan (who represents Jesus) gave his life on the Stone Table for Edmund Pevensie who attempted to betray his siblings to the White Witch in exchange for being eventual king of Narnia and Turkish Delight, after being rescued by Aslan, redeemed and forgiven by him for his actions.
The White Witch (like Satan) deceived Edmund in the long run and eventually demanded his life for his treachery as she had rightful claim to every traitor’s blood but after a one on one meeting with Aslan she renounced claim of Edmunds blood as Aslan offered his life in exchange for Edmund’s. The next day Aslan conquered death victorious due to a deeper magic the White Witch herself knew nothing about.
What a powerful illustration if I may say so myself. My wife gave her life to Jesus when she was 13 because of this illustration. She, having been in church her whole life, knew about Jesus and so forth, but when she was first introduced to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, it was then she fully understood on a personal level of His sacrifice for us and the great love He has for the world and all created in His image. (John 3:16)
This Easter maybe you’re gonna go to church, maybe you go every week, maybe only on this occasion and maybe you know of Jesus but do you know Him?
If you see the cross on full display, know that while the cross was once seen as shameful and the apparatus for the worst of punishments. Jesus took that which was declared shameful to redeem you from the clutches of sin. The cross is the doorway to heaven, and the blood that flows from it, washes the worst of the worst of transgressions to make you whole and redeemed by He who is the only way to God the father. (1 Corinthians 1:18)
Yes, over 2,000 years ago Jesus died upon that cross and He still would have gone through all the torment, humiliation and the separation from the Father even if you were the only one! He loves you that much!
And now that you have read all of this maybe you’re wanting to pay your respects to Him for His grace, mercy and forgiveness. Well you won’t find Him in His tomb, He’s not there for He is risen! He’s alive and wants you to call upon His name! (Romans 10:9-13)
