On Wednesday we posted the latest Virginia Presidential poll showing Trump with a 4% lead in Virginia. The poll came from Hampton University’s Center for Public Policy. Before you dismiss it, you need to remember a Hampton poll in 2013 showed McAuliffe would have a narrow win while other polls predicted he would win by double digits. McAuliffe won by less than 3%. Hampton’s poll was the most accurate.
Recently Clinton bought over $100,000 in television ads in Virginia. If you live in NOVA you’ve seen them, over and over. Two weeks ago Trump invested $2 million in Virginia. Tim Kaine is planning more appearances in Virginia. RealClearPolitics.com now puts Virginia back into the toss up category. All of these things indicate how close the Presidential race is in the Old Dominion.
John Fredericks, radio talk show host and part of the Trump team in Virginia, said this about the Clinton campaign:
They pulled out in the third quarter, and we played the whole game.”
If Clinton loses Virginia it will be a major blow to McAuliffe. He became Governor so he could carry a win in Virginia for Clinton. According to the Washington Post McAuliffe says the Clinton campaign is purchasing more ads in Virginia to ensure a big win and not because they are concerned with losing Virginia.
It would be good to see Virginia turn Red again and it would make Trump’s road to the White House much easier.
