Lately, we have all been treated to a game of high stakes poker playing out on national TV and news outlets. It pits President Trump vs. the Democrat “leadership” of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. The stakes are high: does America get to build a security barrier across its southern border or does this country allow everyone and anyone from anywhere to enter our country illegally. The President is hanging tough and has vowed to shut the thus far unfunded 20% of the federal government unless Congress allocates the $5.7 billion he is demanding to build the wall be included in the budget.
This standoff cannot be about the money. The federal budget for 2019 is estimated to ring up at a staggering $4.407 TRILLION, with a projected deficit of $985 billion. Congress has set aside $8 billion for “disaster relief” yet Mr. Trump’s request for $5.7 billion is too much. A quick look at the numbers show that the President’s request works out to 0.13% of the budget; less than the 0.19% budgeted for disaster relief. Come on, that’s a rounding error. So, clearly, this budget fight is not over money.
It’s over future Democrats. Pelosi and Schumer want as many poor immigrants as possible to immigrate into the United States, illegally is fine, so that the Democrat Party can buy their love…and their votes…with other people’s money. We are those other people. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, in 2014, 63 percent of households headed by a non-citizen reported using at least one welfare program as compared to 35 percent of native-headed households. Compared to native households, non-citizen households have much higher use of food programs (45 percent vs. 21 percent for natives) and Medicaid (50 percent vs. 23 percent for natives). “Welfare use tends to be high for both newer arrivals and long-time residents. Of households headed by non-citizens in the United States for fewer than 10 years, 50 percent use one or more welfare programs; for those here more than 10 years, the rate is 70 percent.”
Also, the babies born to illegal aliens are deemed American citizens by virtue of being born on American soil. That means after 18 years of indoctrination by parents who entered the country illegally courtesy of lax border enforcement inflicted on America by Democrats in Congress and sanctuary cities/counties/communities headed by Democrats, these new voters will, of course, pull the lever blindly for Democrat candidates in most cases. That is the Democrat Party’s long term game plan for voter replenishment as working people start to realize that high taxes on wages and welfare programs are not the path to prosperity. When this connection is made, many of these voters become Republicans. Hence, the need for “new blood.”
Whether we get the big beautiful wall promised to us by Donald Trump the candidate or President Trump, the Democrat Party has been exposed as the Party of chaos, disrespect for the law, and total disdain for the safety of the American public. The Republican Party has also been exposed as providing a home to so many squishes (affectionately called RINO’s, i.e. Republicans in Name Only) like John McCain (RIP), Jeff Flake, Susan Collins, and Linda Murkowski, that one might wonder whose side they’re on. The Swamp is alive but let’s hope the President, along with the Freedom Caucus, drains it for good.
