(The following email was sent this evening from the Rich Anderson campaign for RPV chair). Over the last week, I have addressed a never-ending number of Big Lies in emails from Jack Wilson to all of you who are delegates to the RPV State Convention. Literally hundreds of you responded in uplifting and supportive ways, for which I am grateful. |
I warned you then that you’d be pummeled all this week with false and misleading emails—Fake News—from the Wilson campaign, along with unsigned text messages from anonymous attackers. In contrast, I have put my name on every email, text message, and robocall that I have sent to my fellow convention delegates. This afternoon, you received an email from Jack Wilson and his handler John Fredericks. It contained The Biggest Whopper of ‘em all: An artfully-worded email that falsely implies that President Trump’s team has endorsed Jack Wilson for RPV Chair. This is false. This is untrue. Simply put, this is political deception as we prepare to go to the polls on Saturday morning. Just now, members of our Republican Congressional Delegation—who are also co-chairs of the Trump 2020 Campaign—confirmed to me by telephone that they have been in conversation with the Trump 2020 Campaign and the White House Chief of Staff. Both confirm that no statement of support has been issued in the race for RPV Chair, nor will any be forthcoming. The Wilson/Fredericks email of this afternoon is false. You will note that these false and deceptive words come from Wilson and Fredericks alone—and from no one else. Not from the Trump campaign. Not from the Trump White House. They are fabricated and false words that are neither an endorsement nor faint support for Jack Wilson’s election as RPV Chair. The Wilson/Fredericks email violates the trust of Virginia Republicans everywhere. And it comports with the false, unsigned, and anonymous text messages from Wilson and Fredericks attacking my campaign team—and my consistently-conservative record as an eight-year member of the Virginia House of Delegates, where I defended life, the 2A, police, families, and workers. In eight years, I never voted for a tax increase and voted four times against Medicaid expansion. As one who spent 30 years in the cloth of our country, I place a high premium on integrity, truthfulness, and transparency. Character counts, and that is why I am compelled to speak the truth in the face of these untruths that you have received from the Wilson/Fredericks team over the last two weeks. If I am elected as RPV Chair tomorrow, I pledge to all of you—and especially those of you who serve so selflessly in our 126 local Republican units—that I will work to restore your trust and confidence in an RPV that over the last two years has succumbed to dysfunction and defeat. We will make our state party relevant again, and we will recapture our conviction that It’s Time to Fight and Win Again. My campaign video is at this link and tells the story of our future. I pledge to you that I will expend every human effort to ensure in January 2022 that a newly-inaugurated Republican Governor takes his hand off the Bible on the Portico of Mr. Jefferson’s Virginia State Capitol—surrounded on the platform by a newly-elected Republican majority in the House of Delegates. In closing, I hope to earn your trust and vote in tomorrow’s election of a new RPV Chair. The compelling reason for new leadership lies below in a comparison between a failed RPV over the last two years—and the greatness that lies ahead for our state party. God bless all of you, our great Commonwealth, and our nation. My fellow Virginia Republicans, IT’S TIME TO FIGHT AND WIN AGAIN!
