Jesus! God the Son, The Lamb of God, The King of Kings, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace!
These are just a few of the names of He whose miraculous birth we are about to celebrate and as far as receiving Him as our Lord and Savior are concerned, this is something He said to His disciples when they rebuked the parents that brought forth their children to His presence.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. – Mark 10:15
To me when a little child receives Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior they display true joy, peace and security! We should live by that example and I believe that’s why Jesus set such an example for all of us! We that have trusted and accepted Him as our Lord and Savior are already his children and therefore have been born again so why not go to Him as the little children did that were brought before Him?
The best example of that can be seen in the classic 1965 special “A Charlie Brown Christmas” when a frustrated and depressed Charlie Brown asks Does anybody know what Christmas is all about? And delivered to him by Linus van Pelt the most important words that can
fall upon any and all ears at Christmas time and all year around.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were sore afraid and the angel said unto them, Fear not! For behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be for all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men. – Luke 2:8-14
That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown! And that conclusion alone says it all folks! If you, like me, have seen this Charlie Brown special you can also observe how Linus, who clings constantly to his “security blanket” , proceeded to drop it to the ground when he quoted such powerful scripture which even brings tears to my own eyes every time it is quoted!
Linus’ character in this scenario when he dropped the blanket I truly believe displayed being led by the Holy Spirit and that by dropping his blanket showed trust in the Lord knowing that he didn’t need to fear anything or anyone and that he was being protected by the One whose birth he quoted before his peers and the audience viewing this Christmas special!
That’s the power of Jesus Christ, God the Son my friends!
Whether through this Christmas special or it being recited at church. The fact is that this scripture is more than words or a part of celebratory tradition but God breathed facts and History of how He came to earth to save us from the bonds of sin. As we approach this Christmas season we too should receive the Gospel and the Christmas message just as Linus, a child did!
As if Satan and the forces of evil aren’t already fighting tooth and nail to prevent the Gospel message from reaching the attention of the lost today under the politically correct category “cancel culture”. Yes, even almost sixty years ago this crucial scene almost got cut from A Charlie Brown Christmas when producers from CBS insisted that the scene was “too religious” for a family animated special and that any reference to Biblical scripture should be removed to appeal to a wider audience.
But thank God for Peanuts creator Charles Shultz’s insistence that the scene remain in the program! What the left would call an unnecessary display of controversy was in fact the Lord’s will being done all the while a Charlie Brown Christmas becoming a Christmas classic to this very day.
Maybe it’s high time for the left to open their eyes and know that the Lord is gonna get the last word in no matter how hard they crusade to silence Him! Kind of like the irony when Vice President Kamala Harris told the individual at her rally who proclaimed Jesus is Lord that they were at the wrong rally! In turn I guess the Lord, by way of the voters, said she was the wrong choice to lead the American people! (For the record, I’m speaking in terms of Irony and not on the Lord’s behalf!)
So one thing we can conclude from all of this is that the name of Jesus Christ alone is so powerful that the left will do all they can to erase just His name from the media, music, television programs ect. Why?
Because the influence of the Holy Spirit is so powerful, they will do all they can to reject and disregard His power over their souls so they can fulfill their own desires and their own will while their puppet strings are being pulled by the demons under Satan’s orchestration!
Going back to the reason Charlie Brown was depressed and frustrated, was due to the commercialization of Christmas! And ever since then the world uses Christmas as a means for profit and how can one profit from such a sacred meaning than the use of commercialism!
We can enjoy the music, the television programs, the decorations and the materialistic gifts we receive from loved ones but we should never put the reason for the season on the back burner!
As for another ironic scenario to use against the secular world in this case! A couple years ago I heard that there were a group of folks at the University of Virginia who were doing all they could to erase the history and legacy of its founder and the third U.S. President Thomas Jefferson. Do these woke individuals not understand or realize that there would be no University of Virginia for them to be enrolled in or employed by had it not been for Jefferson?
The same principle applies to Christmas! Had it not been for Jesus there would be no Christmas for the leftist crusaders to be of good cheer, to eat, to drink and to be merry! I’m sure they will attempt to justify their actions and protest by tying such a holy holiday to pagan traditions, however the annals of history and the scriptures speak for themselves and I’ll leave the argument at that!
To summarize this conclusion let’s point out the primary facts that should be taken seriously and not at all lightly!
1. We are to receive Jesus and the good news as a little child would!
2. Without Jesus Christ, there is and would be NO Christmas!
3. The Will of God will be done no matter what!
4. One cannot enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born again!
5. Christmas is the most vital as Christ came to earth to carry out the Father’s will for sin, death and hell to be defeated on the cross and Christ rising again on the third day victorious!
Here is something I challenge all of y’all to do this Christmas to help even more understand what Christmas is all about!
The Gospel of Luke has a total of 24 chapters! Starting on December 1st, read one chapter of Luke each day and as you finish the last chapter on December 24th, Christmas Eve you will then understand Who we celebrate, why we celebrate and see past the commercialism and secular activity as to what Christmas is truly about!
I’ve been doing this challenge for years now after seeing it go viral on Facebook and I can tell you that as each year passes, even though the Lord saved my life over seven years ago. It becomes even more clear and easier to understand the love Jesus has for all of us as to why He came to earth! To have a relationship with those He created in His image!
Try it, folks! And this Christmas let’s all be Linus and open our hearts to Jesus with joy, peace and the assurance of being in His secure hands! After all He bought us with a price and we that are in Him are redeemed!

The left are uniformly controlled by Satan through his minions. Having sold their souls they are firmly in his grasp. Jesus is constantly calling them but they resist due to the sin of pride called self-justification. Until they have that proverbial “come to Jesus” experience. All we can do is pray for them.
