Monday night’s LCRC meeting was disappointing and unfortunately predictable. We were admonished to tone down our rabble rousing.
Monday night we saw why we lose.
Party leadership told us without equivocation that the school board makes the rules and we must play by their rules.
To that I say a hearty HELL NO!
That our party leadership would advocate allowing the other side to stipulate the rules by which we address our grievances is patently absurd. It is also weak. Since when has playing by the other side’s rules ever benefitted us or furthered our goals? Since when has the other side followed its own rules? Does our leadership not understand that the rules are in place for one reason: to stifle our freedom of speech?
We’ve watched the left get loud and get everything they want. We’ve watched the left tear down statues, cordon off whole sections of cities as autonomous zones, attack federal courthouses, loot and burn our cities, take over state capital buildings, attack people for wearing the wrong hat and worse. Much worse.
And they have gotten everything they want.
But our leadership seems to think that cheering, clapping, and singing the national anthem is unruly behavior that must be stopped because the Marxists said so.
We must not rock the boat! We need to continue playing the game by the other side’s rules and hope they let us win once in a while right?
Wrong. We didn’t make a splash by being polite. 259 people didn’t sign up to speak because we were polite. We didn’t get media time by being polite. We didn’t force the school board to show their tyranny by being polite. We didn’t gain control of the narrative by being polite.
And now that the ball is rolling and gathering steam our party leadership wants to back off.
Now is the time to press on. Now is the time for courage because through the courage of those unwilling to play by the other side’s rules we grow the movement. More and more people have been getting involved because they see people willing to fight and they see that the fight is winnable. With the right leadership.
We need courage, not capitulation. If we acquiesce and play by the rules the left has imposed upon us then those rules include accepting that all white people are racist, boys can use the girls’ locker room, free speech is only for those who the progressives agree with and that America is inherently an evil place.
Berating those who are standing up for our rights and our very culture is the antithesis of everything our party should represent. Insisting that those who stand up are doing the wrong thing is how we lose this fight.
This is the time. This is the place. This is the fight to turn this county, this commonwealth, and maybe the country around. Everyone is watching us.
We got loud and moved the ball forward. We must stay loud.
Rolling over is not an option.
