“Loudoun Love Warriors” Statements Go Too Far”
Press release from Geary Higgins, candidate for Delegate in the 30th district:
Leesburg, Virginia, May 17, 2023 – Over the past week reporting by WLJA Channel 7 and others has made us aware of how far the current leadership of the Loudoun County School Board, the Board of Supervisors and the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office have fallen in their politics. We can and should do better by the Loudoun County residents we seek to represent.
I have been involved in Loudoun County politics for over 20 years, through Democrat leadership and Republican leadership, on the School Board and on the Board of Supervisors and I have never seen or heard of anything as disrespectful and dangerous as the current situation that has once again put Loudoun County in the national news.
Could any of us have imagined a secret chat group that “plotted secretly to destroy conservatives and Christians, gleefully discussing their deaths and repeatedly scheming to get them fired,” according to thousands of pages of 2022 online chat logs reviewed by the Daily Wire and other news sources. Or a Chair of the Board of Supervisors that is recorded saying “It’s no longer that we have opponents, we have enemies,” referring to persons who disagree with her.
There is no place in Loudoun County for statements like “She is so lucky there are laws because she would be curb-stomped.” Or “Someone gonna get hurt on their side and I hope I get to do it,” by an individual who is shown in numerous pictures with the Board of Supervisors Chair (and other prominent Democrat politicians) and sitting in the Chair’s seat in the Board of Supervisors meeting room. “I’m so ready to show up with guns lol, he said according to the 10-10-23 Daily Wire Report. WJLA Channel 7 and Daily Wire reported comments “I’m telling you. Something has to happen to one of them. Something public and permanent. Lives needs to be ruined beyond repair. Let’s actually destroy them. Grind them.”
I don’t believe our citizens in either political party want this kind of divisive and dangerous rhetoric from their leaders. The Loudouners I know want a county where all people are included in the dialogue on how our county should be governed. Where everyone’s opinions are respected and valued even when we disagree…
And where no one has to be personally afraid for themselves, their family, or their livelihood for expressing their Constitutional First Amendment rights.
