In a Firehouse primary on Saturday Lolita Mancheno-Smoak won the Republican nomination to run for delegate in the 42nd district. Delegate Dave Albo declined to seek re-election after serving 24 years in the House of Delegates. Mancheno-Smoak won with 45% against two challengers, Steve Adragna and Michael Drobnis. Fairfax County Republican Chairman issued the following statement:
“Lolita built the foundation for victory in November with a terrific grassroots campaign. Voters are only beginning to see Lolita’s personal charm, her drive for solving problems, and her genuine desire to make a difference wherever she is. Her appeal to members of the many ethnic communities in the district, combined with the support of more traditional GOP voters, will ensure that a Republican will continue to represent the voters of the 42d District.”
