On a vote of 5 to 4 Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has voted a 62% pay raise for the next board beginning in 2020. (It’s against the law to vote themselves a pay raise.) Voting against the bill were Supervisors Geary Higgins (R-Catoctin), Suzanne Volpe (R-Algonkian), Ralph Buona (R-Ashburn), and Kristen Umstattd (D-Leesburg).
The new pay scale raises the pay of Supervisors from $41,200 to $66,826. The Chairman’s salary will rise to $81,100, up from $50,000 and the Vice Chair will earn $73,363 up from $45,320.
Planning commissioners will also get a raise to $25,000, the commission Chair will get $30,000, while the Vice Chair will earn $27,500.
