Republicans on the 33rd legislative district committee met tonight to choose their method for nominating a candidate to run for Mark Herring’s senate seat should he prevail in his race for Attorney General.
Republicans will choose their candidate at a mass meeting on Monday, December 16th. Registration will begin at 6:30 and end at 7:30 at Park View High School in Sterling Park. Any registered voter in the 33rd district may participate in the mass meeting if they are willing to sign the republican pledge to support the candidate nominated at the meeting. After 7:30 no one will be allowed to join the meeting or vote for a candidate.
Candidates must file with the party by Tuesday, December 10th. The candidate filing fee is $750.
