Just when I thought one problem was solved, and our WWII vets could visit their own Memorial in Washington, I learn that the Park Service has declined the RNC offer to fund the memorial for the next month. This is very disappointing. National Park Service spokeswoman Jennifer Mummart said they have policies and procedures and since the NPS is currently not funded, they cannot accept the money to keep the memorial open.
“So, while we truly appreciate the offers of support, and the spirit in which they are intended, they are not offers we can accept,”
Predictably the democrats responded in their usual angry tone saying that a passing a clean CR would solve the problem. Typical. All about politics.
