Since the day I joined the military in April 1988, I have dedicated my life and career to protecting our nation, our values, and our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. For nearly 30 years of service, I’ve held some level of classified clearance and access. I have proudly worked the last 13 years in a position which makes me personally and professionally responsible for a company and its employees to be trained and to adhere to the securing of classified information of every category (verbal, written, photographic, and electronic), and to see to it that those employees know that there are consequences for breaches of that security.
Today is the first day that I go to work that I don’t care as much as I used to about all of this.
I realize that this attitude unravels the fabric of our national security. I realize that I need to set aside that attitude as soon as I walk in the door of my office today, or I may as well not even go in. But the damage is done.
It’s my job to care. Today I’m going to have to find a way to care, because anyone named Hillary Clinton or anyone who supports her, doesn’t. Our enemies see what’s happening today and will have a new narrative in their approach to targeting us where our security is most weak. Look for more leaks, more spies, more damage done across the globe as a result of not only Hillary Clinton’s gross negligence, but our refusal to prosecute her for it.
I honestly don’t know anyone who is more dedicated to national security than I am. That’s not said to denigrate anyone – I’m just that passionate about protecting those who would give their lives in defense of our country. I hope you are, too. But what Hillary Clinton did with her e-mail weakened us, as a nation. The fact that she won’t face any charges at all weakens us even more.
I can admit that it’s weakened me.
