Former Congressman Scott Taylor (R-VA2) has decided not to run for Senate next year against Mark Warner but will instead run for his former congressional seat. Taylor lost his congressional seat in 2018 after one term to Democrat Elaine Luria. He lost by only 2%, 6113 votes.
Virginia’s second district has historically been a Republican district. Trump, McCain, and Romney all carried the district.
Omari Falkner, Daniel Gade, Alissa Baldwin, Gary Adkins, Roger Franklin, Thomas Speciale, Victor Williams are running in the June primary for the Republican nomination for Senate to face Mark Warner in November 2020.
