Senate Votes to Defund Planned Parenthood and Repeal Obamacare. Yesterday the Senate voted 52 to 47 to defund Planned Parenthood and repeal Obamacare. The vote is largely symbolic because Obama has promised to veto the bill if the bill makes it through the House. Two Republicans crossed over and voted with the Democrats, Susan Collins of Maine and Mark Kirk of Illinois. Story here.

8 years of symbolic votes and stopping progress is enough. Is it any wonder that the congress is despised and that the GOP struggles to project a positive image? 8 years ago, the GOP strategy was to block all movement and attack anything related to Obama. I don’t see this strategy working as the next presidential race approaches. Too bad we will be stuck with Hillary because of the continued miscalculation by the GOP leadership
