The Left’s New Talking Point After Trump’s Speech Monday Night.
In his speech on Monday night former President Trump said “I am your protector. I want to be your protector. As president, I have to be your protector,” In this passage Trump was specifically referring to women, and the plight they have been under during the Biden Harris years. To the left this shows he is misogynistic. That is, he assumes that women need protecting from any man, and especially offensive to think that they need protection from a big bad orange man. Is wanting to protect women misogynistic? Ironically, it’s the media that seeks to protect one woman, Kamala Harris, from hard questions or any real scrutiny. But they can’t be misogynistic the media is on the blue team.
Well, it seems like a perfectly fine thing for a Presidential candidate to promise protection. The first responsibility of a President is public safety. And I think throughout American history Presidents have been promising to protect the public. And it is clear that women certainly need protection after today’s report from Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) acknowledged that the Biden Harris Administration allowed 13000 criminal aliens into the country. ICE acknowledged that those with a criminal history got in, 435,719 were convicted criminals, and 226,847 had pending criminal charges. This number includes 13,099 convicted murderers, 16,000 rapists, 9,400 sexual offenders, 56,000 individuals with drug convictions, 14,000 burglars, and 62,000 violent offenders.
But who’s counting or going to notice. With the American media it’s a one-day story and it is back to the big bad orange man.
Our lefty friends are purposely ignoring the threat at the border. And as they almost always do, they are ignoring the actual text and meaning of Trump’s words. They have decided to parse and cherry pick and misconstrue Trump’s speech. But they have a credibility problem. Like the boy that cried wolf. They have gone from Trump is, a threat to democracy, to he doesn’t have the character to be President, to hating migrants to hating immigrants to now, are you ready for this, being patronizing and condescending towards women. And speaking of character, did Harris really once work at McDonald’s or was it, Waffle House? Well, anyway she would not make up such a thing. Surely, she is not a liar, but I digress.
This new charge is made by a number of lefties, but I will cite one in particular. Matt Lewis wrote a column, in the Hill newspaper, “Trump is making paternalistic, delusional promises to women.” I read Lewis’s column looking for any delusional promises made by Trump, and I couldn’t find one. Lewis predicted at the beginning of his column thar Trump would claim that “fake news” would twist his words and wouldn’t you know it Lewis proceeds to do just that. It’s amazing he made his own prediction come true.
By protecting women Trump intends to secure the border, fight crime and inflation, that’s about it. Now in fairness these are delusional promises if they come from Kamala Harris.
But what Trump means by “Protecting” women, is different from what Lewis claims Trump believes. Lewis distorts Trump’s meaning. He twists the meaning towards a patronizing, pro big government view. More on that in a couple paragraphs.
In his column Lewis quotes some parts of Trump’s speech, but not others, and he adds a false interpretation. Lewis quotes from the speech: “You will no longer be abandoned, lonely or scared…You will no longer be in danger,” he continued. “You will no longer have anxiety from all of the problems our country has today. You will be protected, and I will be your protector.”
Trump is clearly pointing to the responsibility a President has to protect the country, and as he said, from the speech “anxiety from all of the problems our country has today”. Lewis disingenuously adds, “Finally, a president who can cure anxiety!” No, Trump is referring to the anxiety created by the Biden Harris administration. He is not referring to anxiety in general.
Lewis added, “Then, sounding like a snake oil salesman promising a miracle tonic, he (Trump) added, “Women will be happy, healthy, confident and free.” What a nonsensical interpretation.
Trump is asserting that he will be a President who will tackle the mess of the Biden Harris administration and be a responsible commander and chief, which requires defending our southern border.
I noticed Lewis didn’t quote this part of the speech although he left a link to it:
“Sadly, women are poorer than they were four years ago, are less safe on the streets than they were for year ago are more stressed, less optimistic and confident in the future then they were four years ago.” He went on, “I want to be your protector, I have to be your protector, as President I have to be.” Trumps’ reference to having to be a protector is a reference to the constitutional oath which includes the words, “Protect, preserve and defend.”
This paragraph is where the distortion can be found, “Let’s start with the assumption that politics or a politician can or even should cure our most deep-seated needs and problems. Is that really the proper role of government?”
Where did Lewis get “our most deep-seated needs and problems”? What deep-seated needs and problems did Trump bring up in his speech? Lewis doesn’t say.

Lewis ignores the obvious fact that the anxiety Trump is referring to is related to Biden Harris failures and Harris’s job as Border Czar.
Does Trump think women need protecting, yes. But again, he is referring to crime, inflation and the border and Harris’s failures as what is leading to stress and pessimism for America’s future. Certainly, Bidenomics has negatively affected women, their children and or their cats, as the case may be. Trump never mentioned any “deep seated social ills” or a desire to have the federal government tackle them. Trump is only talking about doing the job of a President.
And for good measure Lewis also added this unsubstantiated paragraph, “Trump has said many things over the years that could be construed as misogynistic, paternalistic, condescending and even quasi-fascistic. But this one struck me as an underrated example of Trump revealing his dark worldview.”
The thing is none of this is backed up in his column. Lewis also likes to use this word “worldview”, I have noticed this from some of his other columns, it is preceded with usually the word “dark” or “weird”. What he means by “worldview” I have no idea. Perhaps Lewis is like Kamala; he latches on to words as a crutch to conceal that he has no idea what he is talking about. Or perhaps this can be attributed to his possible admiration for Harris and her Churchillian command of the English language.
Speaking of being patronizing and condescending towards women, Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris in 2020 primarily because she was a woman, specifically a black woman. She was selected, that’s right she didn’t win a single primary, to be the Democrat nominee in 2024 because they didn’t want to bypass a woman. You see Democrats believe that women are so superficial that they will ignore a candidate’s record and vote for her just because she is a woman. Lewis and the Democrats seem to believe that Biden is not patronizing by picking an unqualified woman for Vice President, the Democratic National Committee is not patronizing for picking an unqualified woman to be President, and the press corps is not patronizing Harris by throwing her softball questions. Why does the media only ask softball questions of Harris? Possibly because they believe that a woman can’t handle tough questions. And the amazing thing, they claim that Trump is patronizing and condescending towards woman.
It’s a pity that Matt Lewis will never realize the irony in his patronizing claim. Oh, and speaking of protecting woman. Isn’t Harris the one promising to protect woman from unwanted pregnancies? How is she going to do that? Send out face masks with a perfect likeness of her. The woman puts it on, no worries about pregnancy. Is she going to send out word salad recipes for all the single woman of childbearing age, at taxpayers’ expense of course. Yes, the right combination of phrases and words designed to kill any sex drive. Word salads with a promiscuous use of inappropriate words such as “Holistic” and “Aspirational.” There goes the mood.
No, her idea of ending the unwanted pregnancy, as if at some point in the month a woman just happens to discover she is pregnant- gee how did that happen, is by forcing every state to allow the baby’s heartbeat, to be forcibly and unnaturally stopped at any time. And to achieve this taxpayers’ money may need to be used.
Well, I don’t think Trump is patronizing or condescending towards women, but I think Democrats are.

Mr. Shepard,
These are very large numbers of undesirables.
1) Now what is our Republican AG saying about a percentage of them being in Virginia?
2) Is our Republican AG looking into them obtaining State benefits and or living in HUD publicly and privately owned properties across the Commonwealth?
3) Many of these “illegals” are given Tax ID numbers. Is our Republican AG researching/investegating;
a) bank accounts opened
b) mortgage applications
c) drivers licenses
d) Form Va 5 Quarterly Reports
e) 1099’s with Va Department of Taxation
Simple math
435,719+226,847=662,566 divided by 50
equals a possibility of 13,251 of them in Virginia.
Now we can all post the numbers of The Harris Administration’s negligence but what is our Republican Governor & AG doing to seek them out?
Another question directed specifically to you;
What is Republican Congressional Candidate, State Senator McGuire (Navy Seal) saying about Va cleaning up the UN 🇺🇳 American policies being forced on Virginia?
Harris and Trump, their words mean little or nothing. You want to know them? Then just look at their records for the last 10 years. They are both liars, but their past record speaks the truth about who they were, and exactly who they will be. Debate? Well, it would be far more productive to interview their donors. Ask them, the real power, the donors, exactly what that they will tolerate and demand if their candidate wins. Biden lied when he said something to the effect that the only way he would drop out was if God told/asked him to. Well, Nancy Pelosi is not a deity, and she told the donors to cut the money off, they did, and then she put a fork in Biden cause he was done! Biden obeyed Nancy Pelosi because she controlled the heartbeat of America, the money. Also, there are no elected politicians (other than a few Muslims) inside the beltway who do not piss themselves in fear when the AIPAC calls. So, the media should ask Mr. AIPAC, Netanyahu, what he will instruct the next president to do, both domestically, and in the mid-east. Lastly, the economy is not the most important issue anymore, stupid. Nope. It is the wars that the USA provoked, and the ass kicking the US is now taking in Ukraine. The news media failed to tell you people that Biden cannot allow long range missiles to be fired into Russia because those same missiles can carry nuclear devices and Putin would have to assume they are nuclear armed. Putin would also have no choice but to respond immediately with nuclear devices fired from Russian subs just 12 miles off both US coasts. Putin would also unload on Europe with nukes. Both sides would have to respond all out, not half assed with just one or two nukes, trying to get the upper hand, with thousands. A real old fashioned barbecue on former planet earth. Putin is not like the US presidents or politicians, he takes care of his Russia, and he knows which bathroom to use. Same as does China, N. Korea, Iran, etc.
