There have now been two presidential and one vice presidential debates, and a number of things are increasingly clear:
First, the six moderators were all left wing. The four women were entitled feminists who had no trouble ignoring prior debate protocols or interrupting even though, in hindsight, they were wrong. The two male moderators were also from the extreme left both by life style and education. During the debate, two of the moderators became argumentative with the Republican candidates.
Not only were the questions left biased, but the supposed fact checking was also one sided and appeared pre-arranged. Collusion between the moderators and the Democrat candidates is not beneficial to the public and is patently unfair. It deliberately distorts the needs and interests of the American people.
Second, In doing debate prep, the questions chosen by the moderators did not represent all of the American people but tended to represent the images that liberals have of what is important to the American people. This caused important questions to be left out of the debate or focus on questions that were gotcha in nature (particularly when addressed to the Republican candidates.
Third, the debates have become so formulaic that they aren’t really interesting. There are seldom any surprises, and gotchas have become a substitute for surprises. The best debate I heard now goes back in time to the Obama versus McCain campaigns: Christian Pastor Rick Warren simply sat down with each candidate independently of the other and asked the same questions of each candidate. The conversations actually revealed important issues. The current formulaic approach tends to obscure, trivialize or even hide issues.
Fourth, examples of questions that might have been asked include such things as political weaponization of the government, the significance of the longshoreman’s strike, the apparently delayed and disinterested hurricane response by the federal government, why was the border deliberately left open to invasion, is the Hamas/Palestinian riots in the USA terrorism, can colleges and universities be trusted to educate rather than indoctrinate, and what are the impact of excessive regulation on prosperity? These are the types of questions that Republicans and conservatives might ask but were ignored by the left biased moderators.
Fifth, there was no moderator who actually focused on Republican or conservative debate concerns. This became obvious and caused an uproar when it was discovered that one of the women moderators had a close association with the Democrat Presidential candidate – an obvious conflict of interest. (Unfortunately, the disdain of the left biased feminist moderators for Republicans was not just in the questions but in their expressions and behavior.)
Sixth, the GOP has to come in for some criticism, It seems that every four years the presidential debates suffer from the same type of bias complaint – and the problem is getting worse. The GOP has to demand a different forum for such debates and stick to their demands. (Suggestions include X (Twitter) or direct input from the people themselves. The liberally biased news networks cannot be trusted to police themselves.)
It is time to stop kowtowing to the supposed mainstream networks. The numbers of alternative sources of information have grown substantially thanks to the internet and the proliferation of news oriented websites. If necessary, substitute town hall meetings for debates where candidates can be directly confronted by citizen questioners.
No more special seta sides for the left just to appear unafraid or open to whatever goes. Submitting to injustice isn’t a winning strategy.

I don’t think that the democrats, or the moderators themselves, actually know what the job is. Basically, a moderator is expected to maintain civil decorum. No candidate should be allowed to hog the airtime, try to physically or visually block an opponents access to the audience , prevent useless shouting and cursing, and even interfere if a fight might occur. The moderator is not there to interfere with the message being delivered even if they don’t like it. Unfortunately, in the presidential and vice presidential debates the moderators went far beyond their roles and interrupted the message being delivered.
The GOP takes the same BS from lamestream media moderators every single time. Why NOT demand debates be hosted by One America News Network, NewsMax, or some other media outlet? Why not demand that someone like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Matt Taibi, Vince Coglianese, Dan Bongino, Marjorie Taylor Greene, or any other Conservative personality? The GOP is filled with RINOs and weaklings who simply won’t stand up to the Left and cave like straw houses in a hurricane.
