A bill was recently introduced in New York by Democratic State Assemblymember Tony Simone that would require all restaurants to be open seven days a week in order to give travelers in New York more options in food and rest areas and while this bill may look like a benefit for the state of New York’s economy and a bill of fiscal opportunity for Democrats, in reality this bill is screaming unconstitutional…and in the case of restaurant franchise Chick Fil A, another possible attack on Christianity.
Ok so I can state first off that this bill is unconstitutional as to when a corporately or privately owned business chooses their hours of operation is their own business and their right to do so. As unconstitutional as when the government ordered businesses to shut down during the Covid 19 Pandemic and now they’re trying to force businesses to open to the government’s own benefit?
This should infuriate all business owners, even the ones who make the choice to operate seven days a week as this bill will just be another burden of government interference upon them, but in the case of Chick Fil a for the matter is this bill a passive aggressive attack on their business as well as their morals?
While I’ll admit that most Democrats don’t possess any common sense at all, they’re quite a few that are masterminds in their thinking and work in their legislative pieces in a wicked and evil sense and in the case of Assemblymember Simone this bill could be one of those examples. So why this bill? Why knowing that Chick Fil A operating its chain restaurants six days a week and closed on Sundays would one or many for that matter go after this franchise?
The franchises late founder Truett Cathy heavily invested his business with conservative Christian values and since its founding Chick Fil A has been at the center of controversy for its stand on its principles and morals and one of them was their stand against same sex marriage. Hmm quite interesting how the Liberals and other left leaning activist crusade for the government to stay out of others bedrooms but have no problem intruding and dictating what other businesses do or what hours they operate on!
Yup this is what we call unconstitutional hypocrisy at its finest. So while Chick Fil A in recent years have not always made wise business decisions and are far from angels their own self I think many other patriots of faith will agree with me that this could also be another attack on a business who chose to build its foundation on Christian values and principals.
I hope they will take a stand against this unconstitutional bill and if it were to pass I’d move every single Chick Fil A out of the state if i were them. What the Democrats of New York fail to realize is that this kind of move would definitely hurt the state’s economy as Chick Fil A along with every other privately owned and chain restaurant is a major contributor to its economical growth and its tourism.
So my message to Assemblymember Simone and his league of Democrats is this! The people of New York and others throughout the nation are not stupid to the intentions of the bill that has been introduced. It’s just another attempt for control and religious persecution so while you all are at it, put in that bill of how you all really feel about conservatives, business owners and Christian’s alike! Do some real work for the people and enough of the political games.
New York, Eat more chicken and vote for less Democrats!

Interesting. The legislation is Unconstitutional at its base. Chick Fil A is owned by a Christian Family, and based on its religious’ believes, they stay closed on Sundays. To force them to stay open is against their religious believes which is a violation their Constitutional Rights. Why is it so hard for the Progressive Democrats to understand the laws. We all know they hate the Constitution. NYS has always tried to change the laws in the state even if they are against the Constitution.
If the state has restaurants on state property, then there should be an existing contract. If the state wants to change the terms of that contract there should be a rebid at the end of said contract. If it’s something state wide, that would be an overreach.
New York lawmakers have introduced a bill that would require restaurants in state highway system rest areas to operate seven days a week, a measure apparently aimed at interfering with a policy at the fast food chain Chick-fil-A of staying closed on Sundays.
I humbly fail to see where the legislation attacks Chick Fil A nor have I seen where it would mandate that all restaurants be open on Sundays. I do see where this bill is directly tied to restaurants that operate on State Transportation Rest Areas.
The question should be;
What the heck is Government doing allowing businesses to operate on State (tax payer) property. If this is acceptable to some that’s on you, how are those operational contracts with state and private businesses awarded?
If a state chooses to allow privately owned restaurants at rest areas then the state can dictate a minimum hours of operation they require.
If your business doesn’t want to willingly participate then don’t bid for the “part time” opportunity.
Now for the attack on Christianity;
I don’t see where Simone’s legislation is an attack on Christianity.
If this happens to be the case then
how many Virginia Republicans are sponsoring legislation in our 2024 Virginia General Assembly that closes stores & restaurants on Sunday.
Many Virginia Republicans attack Trump and say he has hurt Republicans and then we see where Republicans here at TBE post that they want to Make Virginia Great Again.
Well folks as a lifelong Virginian (not a carpetbagger) I can remember our “blue laws”. Me personally that change in Virginia combined with the EITC have been detrimental to the Virginia Family.
Virginia Republicans defend families and Christianity bring legislation to close stores & restaurants on Sunday.
If so fearful of New York
In the political arena of States Rights what are Virtuous Virginia Republicans legislating?
