At least 6 Republicans have announced a run for Senate next year against Democrat Senator Mark Warner.
In July the former Congressman from Virginia’s second district, Scott Taylor announced his run for Senate. Since then two additional candidates have announced their intentions to challenge Mark Warner. In October Daniel Gade of Alexandria announced his run. He is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and Iraq War combat veteran. His announcement video:
Earlier this week another candidate entered the race, Omari Faulkner of Bluemont in rural Loudoun County. From very humble beginnings he graduated from Georgetown University having attended on a full scholarship to play basketball. Omari is a Naval reservist, married with 4 little girls. He has traveled the world as an envoy for the State Department. Having met him, he is a very impressive candidate. His video:
