As is typical of the Obama administration, announcements for two resignations were released today, Friday. The first resignation we knew was imminent when Senator Mark Warner called for resignation of Eric Shenseki. We knew Mark Warner would not have jumped on that bandwagon without approval from the White House. But will it make any difference in services to the Veterans? Doubtful. Shenseki said that the problems in the VA can be fixed. Then why haven’t they been? Obama’s had six years to fix problems he first vowed to fix in 2008! Why have benefits gotten worse under Obama?
More of a surprise was the resignation today of Jay Carney, White House spokesman since 2011. Frankly I don’t know how he lasted this long. It’s a terrible job. He will be replaced by deputy spokesman Josh Earnest. Carney is married to ABC correspondent Claire Shipman.
