We wonder why our students in public schools are not learning. Perhaps it’s because they are in school so few days. Below is the schedule for Loudoun County Public schools. And it doesn’t even count the number of snow days, movie days, early dismissal days, and the 10 weeks off in the summer when they forget much of what little they’ve learned. Why are students still on an agrarian calendar designed over a 100 years ago? How many students still need the summers off to work the family farm?

Is that statewide? I can understand why Loudon county wants that. It makes it easier to infect the children with liberal disease. Hopefully the other grown-up counties have a better grip on their schedules.
