First on the list of beautiful restaurants in Virginia is Potomac Farms in Lovettsville. With a view like this, who could argue that it’s not beautiful:
Next, for all my friends who love beer, Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton. Although it’s got nothing on Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg:
The third restaurant with an amazing view is Isle of Capri in Virginia Beach. No argument on this view:
The next two on the list are Peaks of Otter Lodge Restaurant in Bedford and the Chart House in Alexandria. Neither one wow me.
The Island House Restaurant in Wachapreague is impressive and I can attest that Wachapreague oysters are some of the best I’ve had. More on Virginia’s fantastic oysters, and where to find them, here.
Merroir Restaurant in Topping VA, has gorgeous river views like this one:
Belle and James in Richmond and Oakhart Social in Charlottesville are also on the list but they don’t wow me.
Also on their list is 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church. It’s a beautiful place inside and out, with excellent food, but be prepared to pay for it. It’s quite expensive.
My favorite restaurant for ambiance and food has always been L’auberge Chez Francois in Great Falls. Don’t miss their escargot, Chateaubriand with the best bearnaise sauce in the world, and their wonderful dessert soufflés. Yes, it’s expensive but worth it. Go at Christmas time, it’s magical.
Bon Appétit!
