Often, I hear the tired and trite pushback from members of the Democratic Party that republicans are “racists,” “homophobes,” “bigots,” and unwelcoming to America’s immigrants. Looking at the current Republican Party slate for Governor, Lieutenant, and Attorney General this November this is anything but the case. Let’s see we have Winsome-Sears a black female immigrant for Jamaica running for Governor; John Reid an openly Gay Conservative running for Lieutenant-Governor, and lastly Jason Miyares who immigrated from Cuba running for Attorney General. Hardly the ticket fits the description of the Republican Party of Virginia many Democrats would like you to believe! In a previous Commentary I have focused on Winsome-Sears so let me introduce you to our next Lieutenant Governor and Attorney general.
Reid’s career reflects a steadfast commitment both to public service and conservative values. He worked for former President Ronald Reagan and led communications for Governor George Allen during his tenure in the U.S. Senate and collaborated with business and political leaders in the Middle East to promote democracy. Throughout his career of public service he has dedicated himself to strengthening our nation and empowering its citizens.
His leadership has also been instrumental in addressing critical issues, such as securing mental health funding for America’s veterans and personally traveling on a volunteer basis to train newly elected members of the Iraqi parliament during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Through these experiences, he has gained the experience, insight, character, and resolve to tackle Virginia’s challenges and secure Virginia’s future with integrity and purpose and continue the legacy of Governor Glenn Youngkin.
Aa proven performer Attorney-General Miyares Since inauguration he has been focused on fighting violent crime and improving public safety, combatting the deadly impact of opioids and fentanyl, and protecting Virginians from corporate overreach.
His office has secured over $1 billion in opioid settlements for drug addiction and recovery from pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, holding them accountable for their role in the opioid epidemic.
He kept his promise to Virginians by investigating how Loudoun County Public Schools allowed TWO students to be sexually assaulted by the same offender. The result? A fired superintendent who was also convicted of retaliatory firing. Jason also launched Operation Ceasefire during– a multifaceted approach to fighting violent crime by focusing on violence intervention in communities and aggressive prosecution of violent gun crimes. It has put violent offenders who were on our streets behind bars.
I have had long conversations with all three candidates and can attest that their values and principles align with what we want for future generations of Virginians. This November lets look beyond the name calling and trite talking points that Democrats will spew in an attempt to gain your vote. At the end of the day E Pluribus Unum” that translates to “Out of many, one” and all three Republican candidates who come from diverse backgrounds have earned you vote to ensure Virginia will indeed be united as one as we move forward.

Are Republicans a party who protect pedophile rings James? First W Bush give Epstein a sweet little deal for his first encounter with the corrupt DOJ and then Trump completes the circle by giving us the most heinous possible swamp action by burying the case so that no one will ever get to justice… All of those Wall St scumbags in that black book… Oh and the guy dies in prison on Trumps watch as President.
MAGA my ass… it’s protect the swamp again James…
And the really stupid thing James?? Trump is protecting a system that tried to put his stupid ass in jail…
Jason did not immigrate from Cuba, his mother did.
Got it Patti — thank you for the correction.
Well James… I am getting a bit pissed at your party. Promised an end to stupid wars we get more. And a budget that is on track to bust what’s left of this stupid country fast as Biden’s. And yesterday we are told to swallow the worst bullshit possible… Epstein had no client list…
NOTHING TO SEE HERE… PLEASE DISPERSE… NOTHING TO SEE HERE…
If he had no client list why was he in a prison at all… All those rich and powerful Wall St types were going to the Island just to relax I guess.
the only thing so far that Trump has done completely as promised was to make the border secure and that is no small thing. But if the GOP pivots to now we have to have an amnesty as we cannot deport everyone..
See Kenney, Sean… and the rest of the corporate GOP trained monkeys…
They can go to hell…
There have been 1,267 confirmed cases of measles in the U.S. this year, almost 4.5 times the total for all of last year and on track to pass the highest annual count since the disease was declared eliminated in 2000, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Why it matters: While the disease isn’t consistently spreading due to immunization campaigns, there have been outbreaks well beyond West Texas, where low immunization rates and high school exemptions stoked spread of the highly contagious virus early this year.
Driving the news: There have been 27 outbreaks reported in the U.S. so far this year, accounting for 88% percent of the cases. In comparison, there were 16 outbreaks across the entire year in 2024 and 69% of cases were associated with those outbreaks.
There have been three confirmed deaths.
Measles cases have been confirmed in 38 states.
Of the 1,267 cases, 360 (28%) were in kids younger than 5 and 464 (37%) were in kids between the ages of 5 and 19 years old.
In 92% of the confirmed measles cases, the individuals were unvaccinated or their vaccination status was unknown.
Is your post relevant to the topic? Since you are a liberal crap eater, let me ask this… where do the measles come from dumbass? And guess what… those crossing that open border that you and your party want so badly ARE NOT vaccinated… Keep on with your sanctuary country you moronic pea brain.
Perhaps instead of name-calling you could provide FACTS showing what percentage of measles cases have been tracked to recent immigrants.
Here — I’ll save you the trouble: ZERO.
Thanks James. BZ sir
