Goodlatte follows through on Criminal Justice Reform

GIVING CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE:  Last week we chastised Rep. Bob Goodlatte, the Republican from Virginia’s 6th District, for not having delivered on promises to advance critically important criminal justice measures that have broad bipartisan support (see “Goodlatte’s bottleneck on criminal justice reform“).  Well, today Goodlatte unveiled a package of legislation that does just that.  Given the uncertainty on the Hill at the moment, we can’t say where its headed and when it will eventually pass, but we applaud Rep. Goodlatte for taking this important step.  Thank you, Congressman!
