‘Wokeness’ shows its ugly side in Loudoun assault cases; we must vote out Democrats Nov. 2
My kids attended Loudoun County Public Schools from 1st grade through high school. We moved to Leesburg in 2002 from Montgomery County, MD, where I sensed a disturbing liberal trend in their schools.
What I saw in North Bethesda where we lived from 1994 to 2002 were a lot of freaky looking high school kids with liberal permissive parents. We didn’t want any part of that, even though the Montgomery schools were rated much higher.
Leesburg and Loudoun seemed more wholesome. It wasn’t the only reason we moved there, but it was in the back of our minds as our twins turned six.
We were not disappointed.
Cool Spring Elementary School was marvelous and great for our kids. Teachers were strict and dedicated to educating.
I was most impressed with my kids’ middle school, Harper Park Elementary. My son and other Jewish kids were cyberbullied by a kid who had a pro-Hitler Facebook page. I called the principal, and he took immediate action. One of the parents came to me saying she wanted her son to do restitution to our synagogue.
What’s more, the schools had no tolerance for illicit behavior. Belly shirts on girls were not allowed. Once, a kid dyed his hair green for St. Patrick’s Day. The principal sent him home. They caught a boy and girl making out outside and they were hauled before the principal. Parents could opt their kids out from sex education, which we did for them in the 5th grade because we felt it was too soon.
When kids came to the auditorium for a program, they marched in line lips sealed.
My ex wife and I were committed to raising G rated kids in an X-rated world, and the overwhelming majority of Loudoun parents were with us. And my kids and the kids they hanged with have turned out very good.
What’s more, the schools had no tolerance for illicit behavior. Belly shirts on girls were not allowed. Once, a kid dyed his hair green for St. Patrick’s Day. The principal sent him home.
Were there errant teachers and students? Of course, but I do not recall any sexual assaults by students in schools until about 2019, which is when Loudoun voters, in the name of “standing up to Trump,” elected one of the most permissive school boards it has ever known.
And thus, came woke liberal efforts to make LGBTQ students feel at home, with required “naming conventions” and allowing a boy to use a girl’s bathroom if he wants, and the arrival of permissive parents, some of whom encourage their kids to get sex-change operations, or want to be social justice warriors and champion “anti-racism” and liberal rules on LGBTQ.
And now, a dangerous side effect has resulted – sexualization of children. And the suppression of the information by the Loudoun Public Schools is horrible.
When the first incident occurred May 28, the principal of Stone Bridge High School, according to this report, didn’t mention sexual assault; just calling it an “incident.”
There seemed to be more concern about calming down the parent, Scott Smith, a man who did some plumbing work for me some years ago, than investigating the issue. The student, rather than being charged with a crime, was sent to another school, where he committed the same act again.
Permissiveness and wokeness in an effort to “help” a group deemed ”marginalized” has had its consequences.
By telling children – and yes, they are children if under 18 – they need to be aware of kids who want to be the other sex, the schools in essence are exposing kids to sex before they have even found out what it is. I do not mind efforts to prevent discrimination against a high school student who is gay, but to say a 7 year old deserves the same protections says to me the parents should have a protective order against them.
Sexualizing kids at an early age, including semi-pornographic books in libraries, and allowing a self-proclaimed bisexual boy to rape a girl in the bathroom, is scarring for life and the scientific evidence backs me up.
With the decline of organized religion and the idea the government is here to do it all for us, today’s Leftists are doing serious damage to our society. Even the well-intentioned global warming movement is frightening kids that they have no future unless we abolish fossil fuels.
In my kids’ age, we could turn off the TV and deprive them of the Internet (our twins never had smart phones until they were in college) and we could protect them from “bad words” and pornography.
But today, it seems our public schools are looking the other way and tacitly supporting exposing children to sexual images, words and ideas, and it’s state law, too.
Virginia conservatives are the thin Red Line between morality and immorality. This election Nov. 2 is truly about protecting our children from believing our nations is “systemically racist,” as per critical-race theory “equity curricula/” It’s about preventing them from being scarred for life by sexual predators among their fellow students, who are protected by the principals, teachers and liberal politicians, who in 2020 supported barring principals from reporting certain sex incidents.
Don’t just vote but get involved. Knock doors, make calls, text voters, watch polls. This is vital. There are no more “blue dog” Democrats; they all are Leftist simps that need to be voted out of office.
It’s bad enough we have to protect children from sexual imagery and words in social media, movies, TV and songs, but now we have to protect them from permissive school administrators and school boards. We must end the sexualization of our children by voting in Republican candidates Nov. 2, and early voting is going on now. Visit www.Virginia.gop
