One possible 10 to 1 redistricting map (source: cardinalnews.com and Morgan Griffith)

Virginia Democrats hope to redistrict Virginia making it a 10-1 state

written by Jeanine Martin December 5, 2025

To the delight of Virginia Democrats, on Thursday the Supreme Court ruled that the redistricting of Texas would stand. That prompted Virginia Democrat leaders to continue their quest to redistrict Virginia making it a state with 10 democrat Congressional representatives and one lone Republican. Democrats began the redistricting process in October.

On Thursday night Sen. Louise Lucas ( D-Portsmouth) posted on X “I will give a follow back to every person who I see tweet 10-1 tonight.”

Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell (D-Fairfax) responded to the Virginia Scope with “full steam ahead”.

Speaker of the House Don Scott (D-Portsmouth) responded to the idea, “We didn’t want to have to do this. But where I grew up, if a bully came and punched you in the mouth, you better punch back.”

The House of Delegates and the State Senate must pass the amendment for redistricting, then it must be passed in a referendum approved by the voters.

More on the story here. Many possible redistricting maps here.

In 67 AD, Emperor Nero toured Greece and had officials move the Olympic Games forward from AD 69 so he could compete. He entered multiple events, including a chariot race with a ten-horse team, fell before the finish, and still received the victor’s crown; organizers declared him the winner of every event he entered. After his suicide in AD 68, Greek authorities erased his staged triumphs from inscriptions and official Olympic records.”

Just wondering if this reminds anybody of anyone in particular. . .

Virginia was once a relatively conservative state. Now it is Mamdani lite – but at the state rather than city level. As businesses figure this out, virginia will find it hard to attract new business. Higher taxes and lower community security isn’t a prescription for success.

What’s the opinion here about this news: The Indiana House has now passed a congressional map that wipes out every single Democratic seat, a full purge of representation, after direct pressure from Donald Trump.

Oh, I see — Republicans did it to favor Republicans so that’s fine with you.

So typical of democrat traitors. They pass laws to suit themselves and when the law doesn’t suit them, they change them.

” They pass laws to suit themselves and when the law doesn’t suit them, they change them. ”

Which is exactly what the Texas traitors did.

Sauce, goose, gander.

We have learned all we need to know about you two.

It’s almost too easy. Texas courts invalidated several districts under the original map. After a long battle and at the request of President Trump, Texas redrew the map. SCOTUS approved it for 2026. The difference here is that 4 years ago the good people of VA put a procedure in place to ensure fairness and equity. Buuuut now that the democrats are back in charge they want to change it back in clear violation of their agreement and support back then. My charge stands. You really need to stop and re-think your hatred for. Trump.

You don’t have a clue what happened four years ago. The General Assembly passed a redistricting amendment that voters enacted that was a bad joke. The “non-partisan redistricting amendment” contained a planned, intentional poison pill.

Eight members of the Commission were from the General Assembly – four Republicans, four Democrats. Any one of them had veto authority over the Commission’s redistricting plan. If any one of them voted NO, then, the task of redistricting was passed to a committee of retired judges. And that’s exactly what happened because General Assembly Republicans set it up that way.

No clue? Nope. I was here. I campaigned and voted for that bill. You claim that it was a deliberate “poison pill”, nope it was designed to ensure fairness. Except of course, in your eyes. You are deflecting from the reality that the democrats are proposing to do away with it because they don’t like the fact that Trump’s policies are against their socialist agenda.
