Why Christians Need to Vote

According to an article on Crosswalk.com, actor Dean Cain, most known for his role as Superman/Clark Kent in “Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”, brings forth an unsettling fact that there are up to 40 million Christians nationwide who do not vote. 

This is a major problem and if this applies to you then you need to register and vote like your life both physically and spiritually speaking depends on it, because it really does! 

As we look through history (both secular and Biblically) we know that God has appointed and removed leaders both righteous and wicked which all of course serve His will and purpose. Yes, God is in control, yes, God will have His will and way regardless but that doesn’t mean we don’t do something about it. 

For the Christian that lives in the United States, you must understand that great gift of freedom that God has given you to live in a land in which you are free to do and say more than what other countries and nations allow. That which we do should be used to God’s honor and glory, those gifts should not be wasted or used vainly against Him and one of those gifts that apply are the sacred right to vote.

So why are millions of Christian’s sitting around and allowing it to go to waste? 

Once again while God’s in control, we have a duty as His children to use that gift to vote for our leaders and elected officials. Voting is an action and our actions have consequences which in the end means we reap the rewards or we answer for why we abused that which was gifted to us. 

To vote doesn’t necessarily mean voting for the person or personality but for the issues at stake. Here is a list of reasons why Christians need to vote and below I’ve summarized a list that I found on Facebook on how Christians should vote in November! 

1. Vote to protect innocent life both in and outside the womb (Proverbs 6:17) 

2. Vote to give Israel the support she needs (Genesis 12:3) 3. Vote to send fiscally responsible leaders to properly manage our country (Proverbs 22:7) 

4. Vote to send pro work leaders to create more jobs (2 Thessalonians 3:10) 

5. Vote to acknowledge God’s institute of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24 

6. Vote to send leaders who will reward good and punish evil (Romans 13) 

7. Vote as closely as you can on the Word of God and to do that which honors Him (2 Timothy 3:16)

If i can give a Christian one more reason as why they need to vote, especially now it would be to oppose the blasphemous actions and words that were spoken by Democratic candidate Kamala Harris when a individual at one of her rallies shouted in proclamation that “Jesus is Lord” 

Oh, you guys are at the wrong rally! No, I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street! – Vice President Kamala Harris 

If that doesn’t startle a believer in Jesus Christ then what will? Is this the kind of person you want to lead our country? Again God’s will be done regardless who goes to the White House but do you really want to be responsible for sending a blasphemer to lead our nation when you have the right and gift to vote against it? 

As of the writing of this article, we are getting very close to the election which could very well make or break this nation, meaning the continuation or the end of our Constitutional Republic and the final chance that God has given us to stop our spiritual idolatry and our hostility towards the nation of Israel. Maybe a little refresher in 2 Chronicles 7:14 is necessary. 

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

Time is running out! Please if you are a Christ follower just as I am, I am pleading with you to get registered and go vote! Do you want it well with your soul that you stood up for the Word of God or do you want to wallow in regret of not standing up against the Satanic forces that are in full drive throughout this nation and the world? 

Remember, we will all one day stand before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Jesus Christ and take account for our actions, words and thoughts! And that includes on how we voted (wisely or foolishly) and did we allow such a valuable gift to go to waste?
