This Friday, October 2, is the deadline for comments to be submitted on the VA Board of Elections proposed regulation to eliminate the requirement for postmarks on absentee ballot return envelopes.
I wrote about this proposed regulation in a post for TBE here.
At the time of my post, I was the only person to have submitted a comment against the regulation. Since then, comments continue to rise and, as I write now, stand at 476.
Once comments reach 25, the Board of Elections must hold a public hearing. But will they?
If you oppose the Board of Election’s attempt to subvert VA law and want to see the postmark preserved, but have not yet registered your opposition, please go here to comment [Click on the red “In Progress” link and then the “Enter a comment” link on the next page.] https://townhall.virginia.gov/L/ViewStage.cfm?stageid=9041
If you already have submitted a comment, why not call the Board and tell them you want a public hearing scheduled ASAP? Phone #: 804.864.8901, then press “0”
You have until THIS FRIDAY to comment!
