In a national survey of 23,347 registered voters across the nation in June and the first two weeks of July, Clinton did best among those with no or low incomes. This is contrary to the conventional wisdom that those with little education and little money support Trump. They don’t. According to this poll, it is the middle and upper income voters who support Trump.
Blue collar workers support Trump over Hillary by 5%, 44% to 39%.
Among higher income voters, 40% believe the economy is the most important issue, followed by middle income voters of whom 35% agree the economy is most important. Among low income voters only 31% believe the economy is the most important problem facing our nation.
Not surprisingly, those with the lowest income are more likely to say the country is on the wrong track with 75% of those with incomes under $50,000 believing the country is on the wrong track compared to 73% of middle income people and 68% of those making over $100,000.
