Loudoun Chairman Scott York To Run for Re-Election in 2015

written by Jeanine Martin April 28, 2014

In an announcement that came as a surprise to many in Loudoun County, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Scott York, will run next year for his 5th term in office.  It had been widely rumored that Scott York would not run for re-election.

In 2011 Scott York was endorsed by Loudoun Republicans by a razor thin margin of 47 votes against conservative Steve Stockman.  York went on to easily beat democrat Thomas Bellanca, 64% to 35%.   In his 3 prior runs for chairman, York ran as an independent.  In 2015 York will need to run again as an Independent because it is highly unlikely he will be endorsed by Loudoun Republicans.  With his push for metro, and his attacks on some of other republican board members, York has not been popular with Republicans in Loudoun.  In 2015 there will be no hug for Scott York from Loudoun Republicans.
