It has been a long time since I was in France. I was a young man and not well treated because I was an American who didn’t speak French. I stayed in a lousy hotel and had to walk the hall to get to a bathroom. I think there was some good food but I have a really good French restaurant in my area so comparison is not favorable. (I even have a relative from the country and thought that might count for something. It didn’t.) Enough of the travelogue and on to the Paris Olympics 2024.
The day before the actual Olympics began, elements of the French rail system were sabotaged. This was an omen not to be ignored.
The opening ceremonies of the Olympics featured a blasphemous drag queen depiction of Christ’s Last Supper. The situation is so bad that Christians around the world are not only boycotting the Olympics but Paris and France itself.
Elon Musk banned the advertising of the Olympics on his Twitter/X social media site and one of the major Paris Olympic sponsors, C Spire, has pulled out completely. Key figures in the Catholic Church as well as major Christian spokesmen and women, Cameron Candace Bure for example, condemned the depiction in no uncertain terms. Even some athletes got in on the condemnation although quietly.
NBC, the television network carrying the Olympics, has done everything possible to squash the dissent. It is censoring and threatening anyone who uses the blasphemous depiction. Notably, the people in charge of the opening ceremonies have stated that they achieved their goals and minimally apologized to anyone who was offended – namely some 2 Billion Christians worldwide at a minimum. One of the main drag queens issued a “screw you” statement to top off the festivities.
There have been attempts to make the blasphemous depiction into something other than a Jesus in drag at the Last Supper by saying it is really the Greek God Dionysus not Jesus. That has fallen utterly flat as the drag queen herself has said that she was depicting Jesus.
This was the start of day one and it still resonates. But then there was more —–.
Paris itself subsequently suffered a major black out and in the “God will not be Mocked” arena, the Basilica of Sacré Coeur de Montmartre remained fully lighted while the city suffered in darkness. Apparently, God was still not fully satisfied so he poured buckets of rain on the entire area flooding streets and canceling some Olympic Events.
At this point, you have to wonder what is next. Is this actually going to be an international sports competition and can the Paris Olympics 2024 make it to the end? There have been a few incidents already with Muslims refusing to shake the hands of Israelis and with male boxers in the female competition. The accommodations and food are apparently so bad that Olympic athletes are bailing out to find better accommodation. Remember, this is only day three.
What I am waiting for is the closing ceremonies. Will Christianity continue to be insulted or will the Olympic sponsors try a different religion to insult this time? The Charlie Hebdo massacre still affects the psyche of the French so maybe the closing ceremonies will be plain vanilla.
This Olympics is likely to go down in history as the most morally bankrupt in history.
And who knows what will happen financially and in the future. Forget watching just wait for the final act.

The most amazing thing about mRNA vaccines is they are able to trigger every disease and condition known to the Republican Party, but seem incapable of providing protection against the virus they’re genetically designed to prevent.
God is still having fun with the Olympics. The river seine is so polluted that the swim leg of the triathlon may be cancelled. Turns out the torrential rains flushed street crap into the river and bacterial levels are quite high. And guess what is floating on the surface.🙈
Two triathlete swimmers were hospitalized after swimming in the Seine. Belgium pulled out of the triathelete competition. I guess swimming in sewage and excrement isn’t as much fun as the leftist nuts like.
